    I'm guilty of this sometimes.

Tends to creep up in films I didn't like for usually a much different reason (casting/direction) and fade in films I like. Just human nature I guess.

As for Batman recasting...I think Hugh Darcy from Hannibal and such would be interesting.

Here's to hoping for new remasters.
I'll be willing to double-dip IF they include extensive making-of footage for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. Batman Begins had it (though not as extensive as Superman Returns when that came out), I want the other two to have one as well.

        Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Finally got around to seeing this the other week - ended up getting an HBOGO hook - and I actually thought it was really good! Had heard mixed thoughts on Bane and Catwoman, but I thought Bane came off as seriously evil and badass, while there was just enough (read; not too much) of Catwoman to satisfy my interests.

My only real knock was that **** just sort of happened, or came out of nowhere. I thought, at times, the same during the The Dark Knight. It was just like, BAM! NOW THIS **** IS HAPPENING! Thankfully there was very little that felt like it needed a lead in or the like, but I suppose it also helped keep the pace, especially when the tempo slowed. Which is something I also didn't have a problem with.

Great watch and a satisfying finish to the trilogy. Definitely having another go with this one in the next few days. I will say, The Dark Knight remains my favorite of the bunch. A great trilogy for the Caped Crusader.

The time lapses still make me lol but I enjoy the movie overall. Still doesn't come close to Begins or TDK for me.

Thinking about future Batman movies, I really hope they play up Batman's detective skills and intellect a lot more. I mean, there IS a reason he's the guy in front of DETECTIVE COMICS.

Who does everyone feel should be the next Batman?

Christian Bale has basically said he's done, and that includes a JLA movie. Of course you can never say never, but in this case, I think you just about can.

Personally I want them to continue with the trend in superhero movies of going after someone who's a good actor, but not necessarily a big name.

I think going back to that rumor years ago of Armie Hammer being cast in a Batman vs Superman (or was it Justice League?) movie that he'd be a good choice. However, if The Lone Ranger movie happens to become a big success, then that kind of makes him a "big name".

Armie's been attached before and I don't see them going back.

If Karl Urban wasn't already Judge Dredd and Bones in Stark Trek I would say him.

Jim Caviezel would be good. I think his name floated around during Batman Begins pre-production.

^ Interesting, so they'll have bonus versions of scenes that are in 1.44:1 instead of 1.78:1 on an extra disc or something?

Too bad there aren't any commentary tracks to speak of.

Nolan doesn't believe in director commentaries, apparently.

Well then... we need more outliers.

It's funny, my 19 year old sister is pretty in love with TDK (I think she really liked the character Harvey Dent and then Heath's performance), and she saw TDKR in theaters and thought it was pretty good. Though I just watched it with her the other day after she said she didn't really remember too much about TDKR and was confused about it. After I explained everything about it and revealed to her who Bane really was (Tom Hardy, where we watched This Means War after it), she really grew into it. She might even see them as equals now, though I think she'd rather re-watch TDK more than TDKR.

I might be the other way. I think I can re-watch TDKR more than TDK, but that is not a demerit on TDK at all. I've simply already seen that 100 times. I now just have to match that with TDKR is all.
