Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Spoiler
I thought they typically go by dental records if the body isn't identifiable, though.
Oh well. Like I said, I don't like conjecturing things on films like this. It either makes sense or it doesn't and for the most part that makes sense.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Well saw the film and while I found it enjoyable, o can't say it was amazing or lived up to the hype. I'd prob give it an 8/10. It was great filmaking all around, don't get me wrong, but I just wasnt blown away or anything.. Not like when I saw Gladiator, the ending, build up, fight scenes were awesome.. I would say Rise of planet of the Apes was a bit more enjoyable than DKR.
Couple questions about DKR...
SpoilerWhat was up w the blood transfusion during the prologue? Why did they need the Scientist if they were just gonna kill him? They coulda just let him crash. Was Talia planning on killing herself along w Gotham City? Seemed like it. That prison pit...Kind of ridiculous how a 10 yr old girl was able to jump to that ledge, but Bruce Wayne aka Batman couldn't..smh.SpoilerMaybe he wanted to keep him alive for the football stadium scene, simply to scare all Gotham folk.
As for Bruce, it was explained that the rope held people back. Even the subconscious knowledge that you could fall to safety makes them less motivated to go all out on their jump. Even as the prisoner told Bruce: push-ups won't get him out of the pit. The point was the same point that Ra's made in Batman Begins. "The training is nothing! The will is everything! The will to act."
SpoilerI thought he said "Don't call it in," because he wanted to harvest three men "illegally" and dump two of them, not telling Langley or whomever he would report to.
I could be totally wrong, though. I only saw it back during the midnight showing, and I had trouble hearing/remembering bits of dialogue at times. I gotta see this again!
SpoilerThey wanted CIA to think Dr. Pavel died on that plane, and that Bane didn't kidnap him.SpoilerGood thing that Bane didn't kill the scientist, they needed him to turn the reactor into a bomb. There has to be more to it than what they showed us in the film. Talia wasn't shown the reactor till later on in the film, so she wouldn't know the value that the scientist would bring.......unless she had something else in mind for him.Comment

The Dark Knight Rises: Biggest 2D Movie Opening Ever
As expected, The Dark Knight Rises debuted as the No. 1 film in North America this weekend. (The studios refrained from reporting official weekend box office figures until Monday due to the Aurora theater shooting.)
According to Exhibitor Relations, the final film in director Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy grossed $160.9 million for the weekend, more than The Dark Knight's $158.4 million debut in 2008 and makes TDKR the largest ever 2D opening of all time. With $88 million made overseas, the film's worldwide total is currently $248.9 million. IMAX announced that the film made $23.8 million from 396 IMAX locations worldwide.
The Hollywood Reporter says Warner Bros. will make a "substantial" donation to a charitable fund designated by the governor of Colorado.
Film industry pundits and fans alike speculated whether The Dark Knight Rises could break the opening weekend record for this summer's other superhero blockbuster, Marvel's The Avengers, which debuted with $207 million. The Dark Knight Rises, unlike Avengers, was not in 3D, which has higher ticket prices.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Pretty much agree with those feelings as well.
I do wonder why everyone seems so concerned with...
SpoilerHow Bruce gets from the Pit back to Gotham. It took him, what, 22 days or something to get back? I don't get why the "HOW" matters so much with that?
None of the time lapses bothered me at all, though, so maybe that's just me.SpoilerI don't think its the distance that bothered people. It's how he got in considering all the bridges/tunnels to Gotham were destroyed. I figured he had some secret Batcave entrance, but why not show how he got back into Gotham then?Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
One thing really bothered me.
SpoilerBane bursts into the stock market, causes trouble, and the next day Wayne's entire fortune is gone on some risky trades. Lucius even says they could claim fraud but that a reversal would take a while, but in the end Wayne Corp. is still bankrupt? Really? They didn't think something was up when Bane fiddled with the computer and then Wayne had suddenly made a whole bunch of crazy trades the same day? The SEC didn't reverse something that was obviously a scheme by this guy who launched a wave of terrorism against Gotham?Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerI guess it was a gamble to get Talia into the power circle at Wayne Corp so she could get access to the Fusion reactor? And they played Daggett's ambitions against Wayne Corp. as an opportunity to get access to his resources and work their underground plan. So they basically turned the city's top power brokers against the city itself in the end. I don't know, it seemed a really muddled way to tell that story.
I was impressed how they were able to make Tom Hardy look reasonably big as Bane when he is quite a bit smaller than Bale.

Speaking of which, outside of Inception what other Hardy movies should I have in my collection?

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Anybody seen this? Recommend it?
I forgot he was in Tinker Tailor Solider Spy.
Damn. I also completely forgot he was in Layer Cake. Oh yeah, the new Q in Skyfall was in that movie too.

Thought he did a tremendous job as Bane. I think his performance has really been underrated by the critics, probably because the manufactured voice ends up detracting from the purity of his acting display.Comment
