Re: The Dark Knight Rises
SpoilerSpeaking of this, there's a part of me that really, really wants a movie set in this universe with JGL as Batman and a lot of the other characters like Gordon, Alfred, and Fox being maintained. The part of me that doesn't want it wonders how the hell JGL would be able to pull off a "Batman voice".I'm sure they're not going to go that route because all indications are Nolan is done, but that doesn't mean his brother couldn't take over because I'm pretty sure he directs as well.
Also, there's something about that one scene where Bane reveals the truth about Harvey Dent and Gordon and Blake are watching it. Some of the shots of Blake/JGL standing there are so "angular"(?) and gives him that hero vibe that it made me feel like he was supposed to become Nightwing the first time I watched it. It's hard to explain but hopefully someone gets it.Last edited by BlueNGold; 07-25-2012, 08:45 AM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Am I the only one bothered by how batman looked? Not costume wise...I still can't get over how skinny he is and makes his head look big due to the mask part. If Bale had wider shoulders then it would look alright but each time he would appear on screen the first thing I would notice is his huge head. lol
I was also pleasantly surprised with Anne Hathaway as catwoman. She really portrayed her real well...
I wish the Nolan Batman costume was available to use in the Batman games...Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I think many people need to take this Trilogy away from the Comics. This is Nolan's Batman Universe, which in my opinion has absolutely nothing to do with any comic or previous movie/cartoon/tv show.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
What do you mean that it had absolutely nothing to do with any comic?
There were actually some nods from past comic stories....

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
huh? Nolan followed the source material and story wise its exactly like the movie/cartoon/tv show.
What do you mean that it had absolutely nothing to do with any comic?
There were actually some nods to the comic version...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
This kind of sucks, because I was hoping this wasn't the case. The audience seemed to tolerate it the first time, but next time I take my sister to see it, I hope this doesn't become an obvious issue where it can't just be treated lightly.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
It was hands down the worst acted moment of the trilogy, taking the crown over pretty much every one of Maggie G's lines from TDK.Comment

Originally posted by BeantownI think he's saying that, while the inspiration and nods from the comics and cartoons are there, everything that changed (Bane's venom and all that) is because this isn't an adaptation, it's an interpretation. Nolan took those ideas and storylines from the comics and turned it into his own Gotham Universe with his own takes on the characters and stories and such.

Yeah, Talia's death was all kinds of bad. The audience around me didn't seem to care, though so who knows.

I didn't think it was a great moment either, but good lord I hated Maggie G. Don't think anything was worse than her for me.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Here's a direct comparison of the two Bane voices... the one from the original prologue, and the one from the theatrical version:

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Voice sounds cooler in the original format but there would be a lot more complaints had they kept it. Would've been much more difficult to understand since there were still people as I left both showings saying they wish they could've seen subtitles.Comment

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Damn that original voice is chilling.
I agree with Beantown even though the theatrical does give it a megaphone effect.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
However, just watching that, it is much clearer in both versions outside of the IMAX version that I saw, including everybody else's voice. I can't wait to see this again in a regular theater or on Blu-ray, and see how much dialogue I actually missed from any and all characters.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
