I finally got my wife to watch it with me last weekend...she didn't like it as much as TDK. She thought it was 'slower' and 'darker'...both traits I liked about the movie. In the end I think she just doesn't like Bane as a villain compared to Joker.

It was on HBO last night, and I just changed to it because I thought it would be "cool" to see that it's on TV or whatever.

Ended up not changing the channel. Damn though, I should've been watching the Blu-ray. Looks and sounds much better that way.

Although, I feel like there was something different about watching it when it was on TV... like, I watched it through the eyes of somebody who hasn't seen it before, so I really dug deep into every word and image. Outside of my personal beefs (and they are instances, not grand elements), this might be my favorite Batman film.

Saw it 1st night it came out in theaters, didn't think it was all that great. Fast forward to last week I downloaded it from iTunes for a road trip. For some reason I felt it was amazing the 2nd time around and got chills the moment Bane hit the screen.

Yeah, I do feel like I heard a fair amount of people saying they enjoyed it more the second time around. Heard it's a bit slower, which didn't sway me from seeing it, and honestly I am not sure why I never got around to watching it..

I really enjoyed Nolan's first two interpretations; a lot of character and substance. Not just some mind numbing, action packed take on the series. I just never got around to seeing TDKR aaaannnnddd looks like that won't change. It's no longer available on On Demand! I don't have a BR player, either, not that I could see myself even going out to rent / buy the movie. Pretty bummed out (LOL!) but I really have no one to blame but myself. I was so close to ordering it a month or so ago..

            Damn. In time.

Nah, unfortunately I do not pay for such premium channel. I catch up on my HBO shows, literally, years after the fact. Why would they take it down, leaving the first two up? Possibly something to do with the aforementioned limited AMC re-release?

                  Re: The Dark Knight Rises

Yeah, they are showing it on HBO the east coast feed on direct tv right now, the west coast feed starts at 2:45 pm, Not only did I watch the trilogy at the theatres, TDKR is one of only 3 movies I've gone to see at the theatres in the past 3 years (Saw 7 and The Avengers). I refuse to pay $15 almost to go see a movie that I can surely download after its been out for 2 weeks and get the dvd version of the movie off the internet. Hell, I just bought TDKR dvd a week ago when I was at Best Buy just so I could have my trilogy collection, but I've had it on my laptop since late July last year two weeks after it came out.

By far Batman is my favorite superhero of all time basically because he's not a superhero, he's a regular guy with no super powers, he has access to advance military weaponary that he can use at his disposal since his company makes them, just like Tony Stark a.k.a. Ironman. Both of them are regular men with no super powers at all.

For that reason alone, I think that's why that Nolan's batman trilogy is hands down the most realistic and true reality based trilogy for a superhero franchise. It would be great if Nolan and Bale would comeback to do the Justice League movie, but I see the Justice League movie as being a huge disappointment because of the uncertain future of the Batman franchise and the current Superman franchise. We have never had a Wonder Woman movie, Aquaman movie or Flash movie. If Warner Bros is serious about a Justice League movie, I think the way that Marval did it with the Avengers, by having the indivdual characters be introduced in their own movie is the way to go, but then your probably looking at a timeframe of another 5-6 years at most for a Justice League movie, but if you are going to do it, then do it right.

The one movie star who I think would be great to take over the Batman franchise given that I think he'd have the body and the look for it is Bradley Cooper. I can see him as a Bruce Wayne type of guy. I know that everyone would want a younger actor to take over the franchise, but if you go younger, then you gotta sign him to a multi picture deal, not to where he is typecast, but something of a Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Bronsan, Daniel Craig deal with the James Bond franchise. Those actors went on to star in other films between making their Bond movies, and I think that is what they need to do with the next Batman star. Bale did a lot of movies during the Batman trilogy, some were feature films, some were small market independent films, but he was able to make it work.

Funny, somebody was asking the ridiculous scenario or re-casting Tony Stark from RDJ. Of course, asinine as that sounds, the first person who came to mind for me was Cooper. Same reasons, and he just has "it" as an actor who could do just that. Don't take away RDJ from Stark, though. He is Iron Man.

As for you, skywalkah... if you can go see the 10:00 PM showing at your local AMC within the next three nights, I suggest you do it. It's cheap, and you'll get the theater experience. If it also makes you feel better, the proceeds are going to some youth charities I believe.

And yup, it's back on HBO again! I'll be damned if I don't admit I just want to keep it on this channel again while also watching the Braves game archive.

I really enjoyed watching TDKR on HBO this month. Doesn't flow as well as the Dark Knight, but I liked it. I know many people complain about the plot holes but watching movies or tv to play mythbusters is kind of silly.
