I don't know, close range, silencer, multiple shots, and then pulled the money from his hand. Alot more thorough than shooting a kid from 20 feet in the dark see him fall and then skipping off into the jungle.

I can see where he would be conflicted about killing the kid, I'm suprised he even did it. But I guess I'm even more suprised he didn't confirm he had done the deed. Remember the spiel he gave that bounty hunter on the plane about Ben? Ben might as well be the devil as far as Sayid is concerned. If you shoot at the devil, you make sure he's dead IMO.

I am sure a tumor could be formed by this. A regeneration of those cells gone bad. Seems like that was in his Neck/upper back though wasn't it?

I was just thinking about the title He's Our You and the similarities between Sayid being captured and Ben being Captured. What are some similarities between the two. Is Sayid the you being referred to.

I'm not sure the exact location, I just remember it being on the spine...young Ben was shot in the chest... so I dunno

Yes. Sayid was the interrogator for the plane crash survivors and the guy in the tent was the interrogrator for Dharma.

It was Larry, but his brother Daryl and his other Brother Daryl were missing.

Alot of you guys may be too young to remember the Newhart show, but that interogator played a Hillbilly with 2 brothers both named Daryl. I laughed out loud when he emerged from the tent.

Oh crap, that just made me think.....The Newhart show ended as it all being a dream.....Coincidence??????

UGHHH!!!! It better be or I will have seriously wasted way to many hours of my life on this show... I seriously don't think they would do that to us

I really like this possibility. Would bring a nice circular explanation to something we didn't think needed explaining.

LOL...I yelled out "Larry!" when I saw him. He was in Deadwood too.

sounds like something is definitely going to come of the shooting other than ben lives cause bullet missed his heart or something. Maybe the island will decide if he lives or dies?

I pretty sure Ben turns out being the good guy in the end, I wouldn't be suprised if he died a martyr.

But that would only be if there is a way to unwind history and re-write future events. Every time he seems to say "Who Cares" when people are dying, I can only think that everything is done as a means to go back and change everything so those people don't die.

We shall see soon enough.

If Ben was just going to live anyway though, I really wish Sayid didn't shoot him. Its really laughable that a trained Assassin couldn't kill Harry Potter standing 20 feet away.

Ben's tumor was below the gun shot wound. He suffered the tumor in his L4 vertebrae which is the lower back.

Gun shot wounds do not cause cancer. Or rather, they shouldn't.

Maybe, Sayid didn't want to kill him. No one has mentioned that. Perhaps he purposely incapacitated him. He doesn't want to bring him to the Others camp, thinking that bringing him there is what causes Ben to become the leader of the place. Instead, "Let me shoot him (but not kill him), he'll end up hating the Others, and now he won't become the leader."
