I always watch a movie before I go to sleep so it's on but I use the sleep timer so the tv isn't on all night.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Sometimes I fall asleep with it on but usually wake up and turn it off half asleep. If my wife is gone, I sleep with the TV on.

Before I go to bed, I always watch TV (usually a movie or espn), but I turn it off before I fall asleep. I don't like to have any lights on before I go to bed.

Before, I couldn't sleep with the TV off...the silence/darkness freaked me out. Now I can't fall asleep with it on.

I keep my laptop bedside when I go to bed. I usually watch a few episodes of whatever series I am going through at the time (currently: dragonball) or will stream some old school wrestling. I usually end up watching it for an hour or so then mute the sound but keep the video going. The screen turns off after a few hours of being idle.

I have it on a special timer that shuts it on and off every five seconds.
I get the best of BOTH worlds that way!

Nope, it has to be 100% dark and 100% quiet or i can never go to sleep. Now I can admit to getting really drowsy during a boring football game but i'll never fall asleep.

Re: Falling Asleep: TV on or off?

It's really the noise factor and not so much the source of light, but I always sleep with the TV on. It's why I love that the PS3 now has a power save setting, I set it to an hour every night and put on a Blu-ray. I can either fall asleep to the movie or its commentary track, I love it. Other nights I'll fall asleep to Family Guy or Sportscenter or something.

If I'm not up to any of those, I'll put on music or a podcast and fall asleep to it. I never fall asleep to nothing.

I'm a TV-off guy. I can't shut down my brain if the TV is on or if I can hear people talking.

Yes. It needs to be on, at low volume, tuned to something I like but am not especially interested in at the moment. Nick @ Nite sitcoms, preferably.
