Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I watched this last night. It was about what I expected and I consider it a disappointment considering how good the first one was..Last edited by jeremym480; 10-27-2009, 08:04 PM.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Transformers 2: God awful. Any movie with robot testicles has no chance of being good.
The Dark Knight on Blu-Ray: I specify "Blu-Ray" because the picture and sound are so insane it was like I was seeing it for the first time, even though it was like the 1000th. Love that movie. Words cannot describe Ledger's performance.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

TDK is a must own on blu ray.Comment

Transformers 2: Garbage. Awful script and a bunch of characters I didn't care about. I basically watched two hours of metal flying around the screen a million miles per second. I vaguely remember the first one, but I know I enjoyed it more than the sequel. 3/10
La Moustache: This was a foreign flick about some dude who shaves his moustache one day but nobody notices. Not his girl, friends, or anyone. The movie started off really good but kind of lost itself. I get what the director was trying to say with this one, but it was just an alright movie. 5/10
Crazy As Hell: A psychologist takes a job at a state hospital and comes across a patient who claims that he's Satan. This was written by Eriq La Salle, who also played 'Satan'. I'm not aware of other stuff that he's done, but I thought this was a good effort. 7/10
Danika:Danika is a thirty-five year old overprotective mother with a beautiful family composed of her successful husband Randy, two sons - the teenager Kurt and the little Brian, and one teenager daughter - Lauren. Danika is disturbed and near a breakdown, having dark and terrifying nightmares and daydreams; distracted in her work and consequently committing mistakes; and under psychiatric treatment with Dr. Evelyn. Her problems originated when her husband cheated on her with the nanny of their children, breaking her confidence in him. The lack of attention caused by her disturbed mind leads her family into tragedy.
Kidulthood: The best way I can describe this is a modern, UK version of the movie 'Kids'. The difference being that Kidulthood has a stronger story and doesn't have that same gritty, almost documentary style to it. It was written by a guy named Noel Clarke, who I will definitely have to check out more from. He also played the bully, Sam, in the movie. I didn't know anything about this one going into it, but I found myself glued to the screen. It might be tough to make out some of the dialogue because of accents, but the longer you continue to watch it, the easier it becomes to understand. I just found out that he did a follow up to it called Adulthood that I plan on checking out soon. Great music in this one too...9/10
Julia:At an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, Julia Harris (Tilda Swinton) agrees to help her friend Elena (Kate del Castillo) kidnap her son (Aidan Gould) from his industrialist grandfather. But when Julia takes the scheme into her own hands, she quickly descends into a dangerous world of Mexican con men. This Cassavetes-inspired drama from acclaimed French director Erick Zonca screened at the Sundance and Berlin film festivals.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 10-28-2009, 08:06 AM.Comment

The Happening-6/10. I thought it was cool at the beginning but lost interest fast. Overall it wasnt a bad movie, just didn't like how it jumped right in to the action without explaining much, and then just ended. But in the beginning Mark Wahlberg said there is no reason to nature so that was the main point this movie was trying to drive. I read some bad reviews on this movie, but I thought it was decent.
And the acting and script was just plain bad. I think Mark Wahlberg is an excellent actor but some of his lines just made me LOL, it made him look like a mediocre actor.
I can never get enough Zooey Deschanel though, so that was good.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
The basic premise is actually not bad at all but the focus is totally wrong. The movie is called Transformers not Sam Witwicky, Boy Adventurer. There were two scenes in the movie that showed how bad the focus is. It's something I kinda noticed in the first film but couldn't put a finger on but it's clear as day here. This is spoiler-rific for those who haven't seen it so stop reading now if you don't want to know:
The scene where Optimus Prime sacrifices himself for Sam should've been done with a lot more heart. I mean it starts to slightly get emotional then BAM! It's back to the craziness of the fight scenes between the robots however near the end of the movie where Sam apparently dies it's done in a super "This is an Emotional Moment" way and having the Primes telling Sam it was his destiny to get the Matrix of Leadership.
WTF! That's kinda thing should've been done with Optimus Prime's death and then his resurrection. Instead he just comes back to life and Jetfire merges with Prime so he can save the day in typical Michael Bay action crap.
UGH!

Halloween 2. Posted my non-spoiler impressions in thread for the movie.
Watched Wrong Turn 2 last night. It was better than I expected considering the budget. Cheesy and campy, but it held my attention (and I was ready for bed).GT: Herkyalert
