Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I was never a big fan of superhero movies and I usually go for under the radar movies and not those big budget hollywood blockbusters. I love foreign films from South Korea, France, The United Kingdom, China and Australia...
I'm one of the few people that never watched any of these movies listed below..
Batman
The Avengers
Star Wars (until recently)
IronMan
SpiderMan
And just to be clear I am not looking forward to watching the new Superman anytime soon...
I usually like watching movies with Denzel Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Walberg, and The Rock when I am watching Hollywood flicks because they are great actors but I'm usually a foreign film type of guy...Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Batman Begins is more of a cliche superhero movie script, but is still very good.
The Dark Knight is far from anything you've ever seen in a superhero movie. Much more of a crime drama than a comic book film. Highly recommended.
The Dark Knight Rises is a character narrative and epic of Bruce Wayne. It has comic book "art" style in it but doesn't have too many comic book elements. It might be a divided kind of film for you, as it's more like Batman Begins in teh story but more like The Dark Knight in that it's simply different in storytelling.
It's recommended that you watch TDK for sure, but you might want to cross over with BB first, even if it might not be your cup of tea.
Oh, and you should also watch The Prestige if you haven't yet. Might get you into the mood of what these movies are kind of like.Last edited by Blzer; 06-25-2013, 11:49 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Just finished The Dark Knight. More super hero goodness. The villian(s) and ending was great. 2 down...1 to goComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
And finished off the trilogy with The Dark Knight Rises. Really enjoyed it as well, but not as much as TDK. Was quite entertaining to watch the trilogy from start to finish in one sitting.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I saw Man of Steel on opening night, it was great. I watched The Dark Knight Rises for the fourth time last week, awesome. I saw Monsters University yesterday as part of a party. It was better than I expected, but I was expecting it to be downright awful.Ravens: In Ozzie We Trust

Broken City & In Time.
BC seemed like a fill-in movie for both major actors. Largely a made-for-TV movie with themes/plot you've seen before.
IT was a very interesting twist on an old storyline as well. An argument could be made that there was a hint of some Hollywood propaganda as well.Comment

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone
Not incredible but not awful. I suppose it was a bit awful in the sense that you're supposed to root for Burt but he's an entirely unsympathetic character that doesn't deserve any sort of forgiveness or redemption but I mean not awful in that it was still decently entertaining.
Living Dead Girl
This was fantastic. Unlike Astro Zombies resulting in disapointment because of the song this did not. Just the opposite,it exceeded expectations. It managed to hit everything on the checklist for a good B movie and a good horror movie.Comment

Watched Days of Thunder last night for the first time since I was about 10 years old. It has all the elements: great cast, a serious take on something I love and a Hans Zimmer score. Trifecta!Alabama Crimson Tide
New Orleans Saints
Kyle Busch #18
Atlanta Braves
Southern Miss Golden Eagles
