Broken City, the acting was top notch and overall a solid movie but there was just something about it that stopped it from being better.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Me too. I still find Seth to be grating, but his 'character' in this gets redeemed for me in that great sceneSpoilerafter JGL drives him home and he finds that book in the bathroom
A very well-done story. It helps that I'm a fan of JGL and Anna Kendrick as well. Just wish they either would have just set it in Vancouver BC, or done ALL of the exteriors in Seattle instead of the mish-mash. Maybe that's the real reason it was named 50/50(I know, I know, Bryce D-Howard gets credit for the title, IMDB).

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I've stayed away from 50/50 because I'm anti-Seth, but now you have me intrigued.
Finally saw "For Love of the Game". I mean I had seen scenes, but never sat down. The baseball scenes are great and I get the larger story, but man everything was soooooo melodramatic. What, was there like 24 featured songs? A bit overkill.Comment

I thought Seth was great in 50/50, but I tend to enjoy him in most roles so long as the movie overall is good.

"For Love of the Game".....saw it once. I liked Kelly and Jena in this, but Costner was just too serious. I think you nailed it when you said it was too melodramatic.
I watched 'Tin Cup' again last night...love that movie. Aside from 'Dances With Wolves', my fave Costner roles are in 'Tin Cup', 'Silverado', 'Fandango', and 'Field of Dreams'.GO 'HAWKS!

Cheech Moran has the line of the movie in Tin Cup..... loved him in that. In fact, overall just liked Tin Cup much more than Love.Comment

Man of Steel:
1. I wish I didn't go at 10:45 pm.
2. I wish I wasn't talked into 3D.
Overall, I thought it was decent. A ton of action. 8/10
SpoilerI loved the ending. The gruesome way he killed Zod made me really feel as if Superman superior. I read on IGN a few days ago about a different and now scrapped ending and I'm glad they stuck with this one. Also, I didn't like the jumping around of the flashbacks.Last edited by Stroehms; 06-20-2013, 02:53 PM.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Shock Treatment
The no where near as good sequel to RHPS. Maybe if it was a standard musical instead of following up something legendary it might've held up but yah...Richard O'Brien disowned it so that should sum it up.
Magdalena
A rapey version of The Exorcist.
The Lift
It's about an elevator that kills people. I thought it was haunted and was going to be intresting. But no the actual reason is much more stupid.
Death Bed
The only logical movie to watch after one about an elevator that kills people is one about a bed that kills people. This was so bad it was good. It's told through a spirit trapped in a painting that's in the same room as the bed. Fun triva: first ever role for William Russ who played the father on Boy Meets World.Comment
