There's a raunchy parts so prepare for that. Grapefruit LOL

it wasn't for me, manly because I am a man. lol
Im just giving you a hard time, it really was pretty good.
I went in thinking it would be horrible and it wasn't bad.
I made her watch Dunkirk, so she made me watch Girls Trip.
She liked it way more than I did.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

If you like classic Hollywood you should check out a movie called Ceiling Zero (1936) The film boasts a great pedigree with Howard Hawks directing, James Cagney and Pat O'Brien being the two leads and a great script written by Frank "Spig" Wead who was known for his exploits in aviation and aviation related scripts. He's probably best known for being depicted on screen by John Wayne in The Wings of Eagles (1957).

Anyways, this was based on a play of his which is thusly summarized in this way on IMDB:

Trouble follows when "Dizzy" Davis, an experienced but irresponsible barnstormer, joins Federal Air Lines as a pilot, and, as a result of one of his selfish actions, a fellow-pilot crashes to death in a fog. After he learns that his license will not be renewed, "Dizzy" makes amends---in his own fashion.
The film has quite a bit of tension, some humor and while mostly stagebound it does well to show the lives of these fliers and what they went through. You'll also get to see Cagney with a bit of a douchey mustache as well. Unfortunately, for various reasons this movie is hard to find as its never been released commercially in North America (there is a region 2 disc out there) but if you can find it I encourage you to check it out.

Caught The Departed on AMC for the first time in a while. I still like Infernal Affairs more, but The Departed still holds up. I get that it's the point of the character, but Matt Damon for me is the weakest link in the movie. Leo is really good.

I probably liked The Departed a little more. That elevator scene in Internal Affairs with Gere and Andy Garcia was a classic.

I think we're talking about two different movies . While Internal Affairs is solid, Infernal Affairs was the movie The Departed was based off of, worth a watch if you like Asian crime dramas.

LOL. Vaguely I remember that. I didn't even think to consider why you were comparing those two movies.

Picked up the Lego Flash movie. It's a pretty good Lego movie. Shows some interesting aspects of the mythos.

Decided to watch Deadpool again since the sequel is coming out soon. This is one of my favorite comic book movies from the past decade or so. Really knows how to have fun and not take itself too seriously.

Along with Ant-Man it's probably my favorite of the comic book movies i've seen. Granted I haven't seen them all. They took risks and had fun with the property. I've heard that fans clamored for some reshoots on the sequel so they can have more Cable and Domino.

Signs. Not sure what no. watching this is. Such a well put together movie. I don't even mind seeing M.Night in there any longer. The tribute to War of the Worlds, the emotional displays from Gibson. The interplay of events and faith. The subtle humor. Just so well done from start to finish.

It’s a weird movie but man I ended up loving it. Very unique and I can’t really talk about it without spoiling it.

First half, wtf I’m I watching to the 2nd half I couldn’t stop smiling.

                            Atomic Blonde

Charlize Theron is a beast and this movie is awesome. My jaw dropped watching a 10 minute continuous shot action scene. They had to have done a Birdman edit because it was unbelievable they got it all in one shot.

                            Darkest Hour

I couldn’t believe Gary Oldman was Winston Churchill. Probably the best make up I ever seen because there was no resemblance of Oldman at all. Complete transformation and well deserved of the Oscar. This actually would be a good movie to watch right before Dunkirk.

Just watched Lady Bird. It was good but over-rated. Love Saoirse Ronan, so it wasn't a total wash. I guess I'm just not in touch with my schoolgirl feminine side (thank the maker).

I was surprised how much I liked it (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) and I wasn't bothered by the ending either. Great performances by Woody, McDormand, and Rockwell. Some really funny and gripping scenes.
