Actually it reminded me of how ridiculous people got about Jackson, some turning him into their god. It's crazy how some reacted to his death as well and they had no connection to him or his life, only his persona/image.

Addendum: went to re-watch the Triumph the Comic Insult Dog clip at the MJ trial and it looks like YouTube took it off. Things that make you go "hmmmm".
    Isnt this doc on Netflix?
It isn't a movie is it?

It's an HBO documentary. It's 4 hours long in 2 parts.

also a doc IS a movie.

movies are either narrative or documentary, other terms are 'live action' and 'factual' etc.

I saw it, and liked it quite a bit. I didn't love it, but I didn't love the first Creed film either (mostly because I didn't like the way they portrayed the protagonist; other than that, it's good and I watch it quite regularly on Blu-ray).

This one suffered from massive pacing issues. The fights were unrealistic, but I didn't care because they were so entertaining. The direction wasn't as sharp as Coogler's, either. Creed's motivations weren't ever crystal clear either, neither were his supporting troops'. It did have neat plot development, albeit somewhat unoriginal, and once again nearly every side character was a very compelling piece of the overall film. They once again nailed the Bianca character.

However, I do get to say that this is one film of a very select few whose trailer is very good at marketing the film without giving much of anything away at all. For that, it gets bonus points. You can freely watch its trailer without feeling spoiled.

          As for your spoiler:

By the way, I don't see much of a difference between Stallone's performance in this film versus its predecessor. So what, no best supporting actor nomination this time? He wasn't even on the Academy's shortlist. Why so much praise in one film, and not the other? I know I can think of one scene in Creed that should trump all the other ones in either film, but he is still nuanced as ever in this film. I just want to disclose that I thought he was great in both films. I just didn't know where the Oscar nom came from last time though, especially since he wasn't even considered this time around.

As always, your assessment is thorough and well thought out. Every single Rocky and Creed movie could be picked apart, but I am such a sap, I will overlook any blemish (heck, I think I may be the only human on Earth that liked Rocky V). I have to agree with you about Creed's motive; I had a problem with that, subconsciously. What would have been his motive to be a fighter in the first place, other than he was born with the "fighter" gene? After all, he was rescued into financial privilege and had no more reason to fight than the cheesy one given; he had no reason to fight because no one knew who he was anyways.

Creed III has to be a standalone and he has to have his own challenge and ending instead of the manufactured continuation of the Rocky storyline. I have an interesting idea. In a "Godfather IIesque" (sorry for the continued use of esque" style, intertwine Adonis's new challenge with flashbacks to Apollo's climb to legendary status. When we first met Apollo, his legend was already established, but how? He had risen to the top and ran out of challenges, until he tangled with the unknown Southpaw from Philly. Take the story to where Adonis attains that same legendary status with a more Adonis friendly ending.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Those are some interesting thoughts, for sure. I currently don't have any suggestions for what he should be like for a third film or what it should be about, but I made my stance clear on how Rocky should be written into a third film.

You probably missed it a few years ago, but when you have the time (because there is a lot to read), there is a nice back-and-forth exchange that JayBee and I had about Creed when it first came out. I suggested some rewrites to the film (something that I'd still ponder to this day) that doesn't confuse me with not only the characters' motives, but also with my attachments to them.

By the way, there I also mention/show that I, too, liked Rocky V. So you and I might be the only two people in the world that like that movie, haha.

My wife and 2 of our teenage kids went to see APOLLO 11 last night. Enjoyed it!! It's a documentary of the moon landing - it's like watching news clips and a few of your friends piecing together old home movies from a bunch of angles everything leading up to the launch, the spaceflight, the moon landing (VERY COOL!) and then the return trip home. If you're into fast-paced stuff, then this might not be for you. It's gotten great reviews and as a history buff, I loved it.

Death at a Funeral (original version). If you've never seen this, you owe it to yourself. And don't bother with the 2010 remake. Alan Tudyk (Steve the Pirate from Dodgeball) and Andy Nyman steal the show in this one imo. Nyman is apparently going to be in the new Hanna series, which is odd because of his very Monty Python type presentation in this movie. Not a star studded cast but it just works. Peter Dinklage makes a great addition as well.

                  Available on Amazon Prime.

The Mule. Good premise, but pretty bad movie. Fell short in so many ways. Bradley Cooper and Michael Pena were overkill castings in their roles as DEA agents. Man, did Andy Garcia get bloated! I think he's surpassed Laurence Fishburne. It's a bit sad to see Clint looking this frail. He pulled it off in Gran Torino, but not here. Admire his stamina and drive, but maybe it's time to stay behind the lens.

A Wrinkle in Time, Wow what a terrible movie. It was so bad i stopped it with about 15 mins left. I've never read the book, so i don't have any nostalgia towards this, but who ever directed and wrote this movie should take a long look in the mirror.

With the budget this film had, the special effects and named actors are top notch, why did no one stop to read the actual script? The movie is confusing, it seems very jarring. I understand what they were going off, but it doesn't come off as making much sense. It felt a like a lot of it was random stuff thrown together.

I went on Wikipedia and did a little reading on the actual book and it's story and it sounds interesting. I see Disney completely removed the religious undertones the book has. The book seemed like a cool adventure of these children fighting "The Darkness" while looking for their Father while the movie just seemed like a bunch of random stuff thrown together.

                      Very disappointed.

I was disappointed that the film didn't develop much over the course of the runtime (a lot of it was the same thing over and over without much progression in the narrative), but I like the scaled back, stripped down version of a "superhero" movie at the same time. I didn't like how underused Bruce Willis was though, especially since we hadn't seen his character in nearly two decades.

                                On another note:
