Have you seen The Code with him and Antonio Banderas?
I really hope i'm the only person that's sit through that trainwreck. Nobody else deserves to see 2 hours of their life so completely and totally wasted.
(And if you both saw it and liked it, i'm sorry about laying into it just now.)

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
That was not the best movie for me to watch after seeing my dog of 14 years struggling to get up at home, especially when he stopped recognizing me. My girlfriend and I were fighting for the tissues in that one. Good movie...but damn is that hard to watch.Comment

That happened to me also WellWell, our dog Ubu wouldn't recognize us, he would growl at us and it was so sad. To make matters worse he was a golden retriever who looked similar to the dog in Marley & Me. That was a tough movie to watch but I'm glad I did, it's a great movie.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Lucky # Slevin-Enjoyed it a lot. Reminded me of a Quentin Tarantino type movie which is a great thing. A ton of violence right from the start, then comedy, then violence at the end. Loved the ending as well. It has a great cast as well. Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and Josh Hartnett. 4/5 stars.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
I just watched Up In The Air and, well, I don't really know what to say at all. It was nothing like I expected it to be (I had no idea what the actual plot was other than Clooney's character flies around a lot) and I was absolutely blown away.
Clooney pretty much just launched up towards the top of my "Favorite Actors" list after this movie. I am now pulling for him at the Academy Awards.
Easily my favorite movie of this "type."Comment

Finally got around to seeing The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. I need to see it again to confirm this, but my gut tells me right now that that movie was one of the best I have ever seen. Pitt was brilliant. Casey Affleck was brilliant. The whole damn cast was brilliant. Wonderfully acted, beautifully shot, and most of all just really, really fascinating. Yes, it's long. I'm not the kind of guy that gives a crap about that. If a movie wants to take 2 and a half hours to tell me it's story, i'm in as long as the story is worth telling. And this story is worth telling. I can't rave about this movie enough. It just shot to the top of my "must purchase" list.
Also watched The Invention of Lying. Thoroughly average, made worse by the fact that I watched something so brilliant immediately after it. Gervais was funny, I enjoyed Tina Fey's cameoish appearance as well as Jason Bateman's, but overall I was underwhelmed. It's an awesome concept that has plenty of comedy potential, I don't think it lived up to it's premise, though. The funniest joke is in the first 2 minutes.

I watched Alpha Dog (2006) and it was based off a true story on the kidnapping and murder that Jesse James Hollywood ordered on the brother of a guy who owed him money. Justin Timberlake was in the movie and I thought he was going to be bad but he played his role great. He played an accomplice to the crime and played a gangster drug dealer and did very well surprisingly. I look forward to seeing him in upcoming movies.
I also watched Memento (2000) and it was a great and very original movie. Very well done and it took a lot of twists and turns.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1
Rambo
Just watched this one last night. It was a good one to watch with a couple of my guy dorm mates where we're just talking between action scenes and hardly listening to what they might want to ever consider a "coherent plot" anyway, and during the action scenes when people got sliced in half by .50 caliber sniper rifles, we had a lot of good "Ooooh!" moments. Fun movie to watch, but don't be impressed by any sort of story.
Speaking of which, it ends kind of abruptly. I understand that it's a 90 minute movie, but there's the long-ish lasting final scene, then a three minute period of no talking and slow-motion movements, then suddenly it ends. I don't mind it since there was nothing else to resolve really, but there wasn't any actual conclusive element thereafter. I just went, "Wait... what?"
The Blu-ray was hit-or-miss for me, but mostly hit. The audio was just fine (not too much of an LFE ride though), and the video had just decent black levels, but otherwise looked great. I think the only issue that I had really was the director's (Stallone) artistic intent, with the bluish tint and the film style inconsistencies (he went for one type during action scenes and another type for other scenes). It kind of threw me off.
I'll probably buy this the next time I find it $10 or less in a store.
Next on my list will either be Gamer, Law Abiding Citizen, or Terminator: Salvation. The only issue is that I want to try one of these HD rentals on PS3, but I need to know if it has the same issue as downloading movie trailers has (where it doesn't really feature 5.1 separation and is instead very center channel focused).
