Salt: Very solid action movie. I was engaged for the whole movie. Worth a watch, definitely.

        TRON: Legacy

Decent, but a bit of a one-trick pony here. Once you get past the first onslaught of dazzling glow and 3D frisbee whizzing, there's not much more beyond it. Olivia Wilde was smoking, though! Daft Punk threw in some good beats in the theater as well. I even took off my 3D glasses at times (not all of it is in 3D, as the disclaimer notes in the beginning) and I could tell that as long as they transfer it to Blu-ray disc properly, the source material is very good looking. For those who will be interested down the line, it will be able to contend as demo-worthy material on Blu-ray.

Has there been a Disney movie that hasn't?

I was actually going to say that. I noticed that it was a Disney movie as the credits rolled and I said to myself, "Should be a great transfer." I didn't like the movie enough that I'd buy it, though.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

              Watched several movies today.

Never Back Down. Complete and total ripoff of the Karate Kid (1984). Only major change was MMA fighting. Would have given it a B- if there had been any originality. Been there done that so C- (Very good audio/video transfer)

Marked for Death. Typical Steven Seagal action movie. Kept me entertained. B rating

Brooklyn's Finest. Really really liked this. I'm a fan of good/dirty cop movies anyway and the acting was great. A-

The director of Never Back Down also completely ripped off Peter Berg's style from Friday Night Lights, including using music from a band that sounded like they tried to be Explosions In The Sky.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Yeah, it was basically a rip-off of a bunch of movies surrounding MMA fights.

I still wasn't disappointed I watched it. I've actually seen it two or three times now.

Speaking of which, there were many times in the beginning half of TRON: Legacy when I swear I heard Hans Zimmer's score for Inception. Haha it was nearly the same thing at times. Though both had fantastic music.

Yes he was the main character.

Yeah, I remember seeing a trailer for that over the summer I believe (in fact I think it was posted here), and it seemed to start off into my kind of movie watching territory but quickly fell off into something else. I'm sure it's a fine film, but it has a specific audience for it as well.

I still don't know how Fight Club became so mainstream. Brad Pitt, I guess.

Watched Machete last night and while I enjoyed it, for some reason it seemed like it was missing something that I couldnt quite put my finger on.
