I was surprised this stood up to the original. I may actually like it more than the Swedish film i haven't decided between them yet.

        Starring Ryan Reynolds.

I have been trying to watch this movie forever in the local theaters.
Finally saw it in on DVD in a redbox and HAD to rent it.

        What a great movie.
I cant believe 1.5 hours+ went by so quickly of just him in a coffin.
        I highly recommend it.
I agree I thought this was an excellent film. Ryan Reynolds performance was great.

RED-Good action movie. Bruce Willis kicking *** never gets old. John Malkovich's character was great. It was predictable but had a couple of cool scenes, I would recommend it.

Memento - I still think this is Nolan's best movie. I don't want to be too redundant, but just a brilliant film all around.

Another night of mind-****ing a couple more people with Inception. That movie will never get old.

I'd say Memento is technically more of a mind-**** (in the sense that you have to kind of retain all that happen in a chronological manner), but Inception leaves more for discussion IMO.

Now I am seen my favorite "Titanic" movie which is more entertaining and more emotional I like actress and her acting.

I don't agree. I found Inception to be fairly linear. Even if you put Memento in chronological order it doesn't address the main points of the film. I think Memento has the best points for discussion.

I know, but Nolan spliced in many subtle things for Inception (which I posted in the thread) that cause many things to be debatable, all because of the ending of course. I would only call Memento linear in that the end appears pretty clear-cut to me. I see people arguing the other way but I'm not quite understanding how that argument really holds up well at all.

I think the only problem with showing someone Memento is they don't really know what they're getting into when they're going to watch it. Hopefully they love it so much they would want to watch it again instantly, but some people get turned off by the confusion. I happen to love it. Following is a little more confusing in that you have to pay attention to its time jumps, whereas Memento lets you more easily understand when they occur and what place in time you're in.

Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

I've watched a couple of movie over the past week or so:

Exam- I'm not as high on it as most people here seem to be. I thought it was an interesting concept but, the ending just didn't do it for me.

The Messenger- I'd recommend this movie on the superb performances of Harrelson and Foster alone. The movie was great in a lot of ways but, I was let down at the end of this one also.

Boot Camp- I saw this movie staring Mila Kunis on Net Flix. It sounded fairly interesting from the Synopsis but, it was just bad. Avoid at all cost.

                        and lastly

Repo Man- I knew the premise of the movie going in and thought that it was going to be kind of predictable but, I was actually pleasantly surprised.
There was plenty of action and blood and gore throughout. aka, My type of movie

I saw this for the first time within the last week too. Felt the exact same way. I was more interested in it than I thought I'd be and the end caught me by surprise. I rather enjoyed it. Not sure why the Insight digital schedule had it as a 1-star movie.

It doesn't have a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes either. 22% from critics and 44% from viewers

Anyway, I watched it by myself last night and then told my gf about it and now see wants to see it. Which means I'll probably watch it again in the next few days. It's been a long time since I've watched a movie twice within days of each other. But, I really don't mind because I fell like I'll notice more little things with the second viewing.

I turned it off after watching the first half an hour or so on HBO the other day, so count me amongst the viewers keeping that movie below a 45%.
