The characters and emotions were so true and real that it sucked me in and took me for a the ride through its simultaneously-told story of the rise and fall of a relationship. The chemistry between Gosling and Williams was unmatched by any movie I've seen in years and I was left wondering why Gosling wasn't nominated for best lead as well because his performance was off the charts.

If you can handle this type of slightly slow and depressing but immersive movie I highly recommend it... probably in my top 5 movies of last year.
Yeah just watched Blue Valentine and it was really well done although very depressing. And I agree Gosling should have been nominated for an oscar, his character had a lot of depth as did Williams's

Just a heads up for some folks here. If you get a chance and are interested I suggest you watch or DVR TCM Sunday night at 8 PM as they're showing a great flick The Story of GI Joe which I reviewed here a long long time ago. It became one of my favorite movies with WWII as a backdrop.

Couldn't sleep last night so I watch a movie called After.life

It was a decent horror/thriller with Christina Richi(who is naked 75% of the time) , Lian Neeson , and Justin Long. If you have an hour and 1/2 to burn id suggest checking it out. It was on either Starz or Showtime On Demand.

          Red Riding Hood-6.2

I love werewolves movies and gave this movie a shot because it took a classic fairy tail and sort of turned it into something slightly dark and gruesome; how wrong was I.

I remember hearing the movie was pretty terrible and after watching it, i sort of agree. The story was so tired and played and the cast even though had some pretty good actors was sort of flat. The special effects were alright, the entire movie was just meh. Nothing special at all. Would of been better if it was rated R and had more blood and gore and the wolf running around slaying people

            Red Cliff

Pretty good if not a little slow moving (and I'm talking about the condensed American version).

Kill The Irishman. Was expecting a bit more. More of a docu-drama type movie. Worth a look. I can do without fat Val Kilmer though.

watched a couple of my $4 blind buys from blockbuster.

Southland Tales. I think I liked it. Very strange movie. Probably would have disappointed if I paid much more than $4.

District 13 Ultimatum. Plenty of action. Enjoyed it. French action flick (english dub)

Just watched Hangover 2. Even though it was similar to the 1st one. I still enjoyed it. Not sure which one is my favorite.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?

Watched that new Sandler flick "Just Go With It" last night.

I don't really know why I bother with his movies anymore, they are all virtually identical these days. He plays a surgeon (yeah right!) who wears a wedding ring to meet women and who is dating Brooklyn Decker (once again yeah right!) and he has Jennifer Aniston pretend to be his ex wife and hilarity almost ensues.

It had a few funny moments but was overall pretty bad and not really worth watching imo. It did make me want to go to Hawaii though, looked like a pretty amazing holiday destination from the images in the movie.

                      6/10 from me.

A very entertaining movie. Definitely a fun watch, also pretty sophisticated for a children's movie. Johnny Depp is amazing even with only his voice and the story was pretty good.

I Am Number Four. Enjoyed it very much. Action/fight scenes definitely held their own. Not too deep, but not completely mindless. Good popcorn movie.

Drive Angry. Liked it a lot, even with Nic Cage in the lead. If you like mindless over the top carnage like Shoot Em Up, this is your movie.

Imagine Shoot Em Up, Death Proof and Ghost Rider combined into one movie. This is what you'd get.
