Honestly, I've been more impressed with the way the older films look compared to Lion King. Not to say Lion King isn't beautiful because it definitely showcases a bunch of beautiful and vivid visuals, but the jump from how Snow White used to look to the blu-ray is amazing. Obviously with a film that was released in the 90s, the jump to blu-ray isn't going to be as great, but it is still a good looking movie.

Spoilerwe we know that Han dies a few years later in tokyo drift. and technically, we never saw letty die. just what dom THOUGHT happened to her.
i hope they only use the "big twist" in Fast 5 to set up the new location. i don't want the story bogged down with too much romance. keep it about the fast cars and you have another winner.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The Shining - I love this movie so damn much, but I really can't watch it as often as other movies. It is intense and thick. Nicholson is amazing and he hits crazy full-tilt and doesn't let up. Shelly Duval is essentially a ghost, almost identical to a walking skeleton with her sharp features and pale and thin frame. It is amazing how tight the overall movie is. Each scene adds something to the story or atmosphere and nothing is a "throw away." Even the framing of the shots are in line with each other. There's an obvious symmetry developed over the course of the film and when that symmetry is broken it really ups the creepy and intensity. This movie, broken down, isn't scary. It's really not ultra-graphic nor does it pander to cliche horror techniques. It builds everything from the ground up on tension fueled by the characters and their relationships with each other. That's what makes the movie so damn haunting and creepy is the fact that even without all the **** going on in the Overlook, Torrance was going to snap sometime.
Also, soundtrack is awesome. I would love to have it on vinyl, but it is just too damn eerie to listen to by itself.

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The A-Team
It was pretty meh, but it was still better than I expected. Some action scenes lived up to the hype, and others were exactly as I sought them to be (like the tank and tanker scenes lol).
The actors/characters were the best part about it, though. I didn't know Patrick Wilson and Jessica Biel were in it, so it made the non A-Team scenes still just as engaging.
I'm sure they have more than enough room to make sequels out of this franchise, so it's only a matter of time in determining whether they will step up with an overall better film or not. I'm not clamoring to see it in theaters if it does, though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Ides of March - Enjoyed it. Solid acting all around especially from George Clooney, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Paul Giamatti. It was filmed in my hometown of Cincinnati and was interesting seeing all the places they shot the film.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Hermano - This is the Venezuelan official selection for the Academy Awards and is about two brothers who play soccer and have a chance to make it on a professional squad. It is a very gritty movie that is both uplifting and depressing. Great performances, especially from the two brothers.
