Re: What movies have you seen recently?
The Amazing Spider-Man
This was good for about 30% then 40% ok and the last 30% just kinda sucked and I lost intrest. I did like the Oscorp building and it was refreshing to have Gwen instead of Mary Jane but it all seemed so unnecessary. If it leads to a "The Night Gwen Stacy Died" movie or Venom/Carnage stuff then it's justified I suppose but as is it's just wankery. I liked all 3 of the last set better than this, felt it was lacking heart. Didn't much care for Garfield's performance either,he was completly and utterly outclassed in almost every scene and it didn't feel like he had the spirit of Spider-Man down.
Ted
This was great then it turned into a cheesey Disney movie towards the end. Seth could've switched up the voices a bit but it did result in one of the better jokes. The last 20 minutes or so it goes from a 9 to a 7. It's worth seeing though. Very good supporting roles. Particularly the grocery store manager and Patrick Warburton.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I thought it was one of the better movies of its type and kept me interested throughout. Maybe the ending was a little corny but I found it hilarious.
Didn't watch very much with the GF this week but did see the 2nd Sherlock Holmes film which put me to sleep. Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind for it. We also saw This Means War which I thought was pretty funny though nothing spectacular. It did keep me interested and the movie did end on a funny note.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

My go-to flicks that girls also enjoy seem to be:
(500) Days of Summer
Up in the Air
Crazy, Stupid, Love
Disney/Pixar movies
I can watch (500) an Up in the Air as many times as I need to and those are romantic type movies.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I watched In Time this morning. If was a essentially a cross between Bonnie & Clyde and Robin Hood. But instead of dealing with money, they are dealing in time as currency. It was a different take on things. I had kind of low expectations but it actually wasn't bad. Justin Timberlake did a good job and Amanda Seyfried was good as his sidekick. I thought Cillian Murphy did a great job as well.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Note: My brother also claimed that Justin Timberlake is the most talented person of our generation... (in the sense that according to him, he's an amazing singer and actor). I think Jamie Foxx wipes the floor with Timberlake acting wise personally, and he's a pretty good singer too. Same goes for Johnny Depp if I recall correctly.NFL: Bills

Anyways your brother must have a low threshold for greatness if he thinks that way about Timberlake.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

There are obviously more talented people in each individual focus but there are probably only a solid handful that have the overall talent he does.
And yes, about 15 years ago I would've never imagined myself ever defending JT.Comment

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Not a movie but....re-watching Heroes season 1 (on HD-DVD). This first season is soooo good, it's sad knowing it went south rather quickly.
Back on topic...watched The Mechanic. Typical Jason Statham action movie.
If you're a fan then you know what to expect. I liked it.Comment
