Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Tombstone (again). The more I watch it, the more I convince myself that there were 2 blatant miscastings. Dana Delany (as gorgeous as she is) and the head cocking/bobbing like it's the 80's. And Bill Paxton. Paxton doesn't seem to encapsulate an image of that time era's cowboy like the other actors do.
But all of this is overshadowed by Val Kilmer's acting job. His single best performance of anything he's done, bar none.Comment

Watched Due Date on Blu-ray yesterday. Hadn't seen it before, but I enjoyed it. It wasn't roll on the floor funny, but I definitely had some good laughs during it.Comment

Lincoln = Amazing beyond words. I never watch movies in the theater. I saw Skyfall on it's day 2 ... last movie i saw before that in the theater was Quantum of Solace. Before that, Casino Royale.
Now I've seen two movies in the theater in less than a month, and you can add a third on Christmas day in Les Miserables.Individuality: Always remember that you are unique. Just like everybody else.

Saw the newest Spider Man movie tonight. It was pretty good. I don't really like the guy that was casted as Peter Parker. Emma Stone is great though; never get tired of seeing her on the TV screen. I actually found myself kinda roped into the plot even though I don't really like superhero movies that aren't semi-realistic.NFL: Bills

I think both were fine, each movie clearly had their own take on Peter Parker.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Saw Silver Linings Playbook last night. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Bradley Cooper and DeNiro were great and there were a ton of funny moments in it as well. Definitely worth a look IMO.

Watched The Bay last night. It's a mediocre found-footage horror film. Kind of interesting in spots but with tons of plot holes/unrealistic behavior. It's biggest flaw, however, is that it just isn't scary.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
I saw Lincoln, thought the dialogue was outstanding. The title of the movie was a little bit misleading because it was more about ammending the constitution than Lincoln himself. Would have preferred to see a movie about Lincoln's entire presidency, but it was still very well done. I wouldn't be suprised if a fact check found some innaccuracies.

I am looking forward to seeing the movie myself at some point.
Anyways I finally saw TDKR. I must say it was a very well done movie. The scope and size of the production must've been hellish for those involved. This iteration of the Bane character is a lot stronger than the comic book version and I liked how it all tied back to the first film. JGL's officer Blake character was well done and the Catwoman while integral in some parts seemed a little out of her depth in this but Nolan managed to keep all the various moving parts of the story working cohesively unlike Sam Raimi who couldn't do a simpler story as effectively in Spider-Man 3.
I give this flick a solid 4 stars and it's a bit of a shame that the Nolan continuity is going to be shelved by WB/DC as i'd love to see how it would go from here.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Er...that amendment is one of the most important amendments ever passed and was a HUGE part of Lincoln's presidency so while that might seem a bit narrow in scope it's a pretty damn logical thing to focus a movie on. I mean if you did a full blown movie on the entire presidency in the detail that Spielberg did with this it would be 6 hrs long!

Re: What movies have you seen recently?
Saw "Skyfall" with my dad about 10 days ago. He's battling cancer and we've always gone to see James Bond movies together ever since he took me to see "For Your Eyes Only" way back in the day when I was a kid. Anyway I loved the movie and so did he. Probably in my top 3 Bond movies.
Been also catching up on the "Alien" movies. Bought the Blu-Ray box set of all the films a couple of months ago. Watched each of the director's cut/special edition versions of the first three movies the last three nights. Plan to watch "Resurrection" tomorrow or Thursday. Remember seeing it once a while back and don't recall liking it all that much. Maybe this time will be different. Heading towards a weekend viewing of "Prometheus," which I only checked out once in the theater.MLB: Cincinnati Reds
