    Ted.

It had its funny moments, but I didn't find this to be LOL hilarious like I've been reading.

    Decent.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I watched Safety Not Guaranteed last night. The movie was good, but it is one where the ending decides the movie for a lot of people. I liked the ending and thought the movie was good overall, my wife thought the end was stupid and made what was a good movie dumb.

Maybe it was the hype, but despite its unique tale, it didn't take me away like I expected/hoped it would. It leaves for some okay discussions in the end (mainly solving the riddles of the film to make sure you understand it all), but I'm not about to rush out, buy it, and re-watch it.

JGL's makeup was crazy weird. I know they did things to make him look more like BW, but they didn't do the same things the other way around, so it just looked kind of funny that JGL was the only guy with a heavy makeup look in the film. The eyebrows were all kinds of "whoa." I wish they did maybe a little better in that department.

I would like to venture into the movie thread though, and see what people brought up.
I agree about Looper. It was a good story, but I still saw holes, and I wasn't nearly as blown away as everyone else seemed to be. I understood the story, but it wasn't mind-blowing.

Anyway, just saw a screening of Lincoln last night with a Q&A with the screenwriter. Slow movie with a LOT of political discourse, but the acting was top-notch across the board. I don't think there was a single actor in it who gave a bad performance. It was funny to hear that the writer had condensed the original draft from 497 pages to a two and a half hour movie. He tried to get Spielberg to sell it to HBO to make a mini-series.

Wanderlust. Despite having 2 very likable people starring in it, Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd, it was pretty bad. Justin Theroux was pretty good in his role, but that's about it.

            The Possession

            Meh.
Wasn't terrible. Wasn't good. A few intresting ideas but some poor execution. (Not performance wise.) Not sure who to blame for it but there were way too many transistions. Ironically after my comment about glitches last week I noticed a small one in this movie. Might've been good with more info/if it was longer, more to care about and less skipping around.

Remember I mentioned Glenda Farrell a while ago? Well I have all the Torchy Blane movies (she wasn't in all of them) so i'm going through them slowly but surely. I won't do individual reviews but give an overall impression once i'm through. I'll be sprinkling other movies in as well.

              So far, so interesting.

Really liked the actors involved, Cooper, Deniro, Lawrence and Tucker, they deserved all the praise they are getting. The movie itself was rather meh.

Just got done watching it, abs I agree. Acting was great, but the movie had a lot of holes.

Just saw 21 Jump Street for the first time and really liked it. The drug trip scene is one of the funniest I've seen in awhile.

I'm getting dragged to this on Friday. The trailers look like an above-average quality rom-com so my interest is pretty minimal other than wondering HTF it got all those Oscar nominations.

It's the acting. Everybody in it did a great job. The story is about as predictable as they come.

This. I had a good idea of how this was going to shake out but the actors did a great job of making me invest in the story.

I really don't understand the fascination with Glee, high school musical, etc. But we watched this, and it was quite enjoyable. The story was pretty cheesey, but a couple of the characters (mostly Fat Amy) were pretty funny, and I sort of ignored the colossal amount of singing.
