PSA for those that like going to the theater: www. moviepass.com has dropped their monthly rate from $50 to $10. Technically you could see a different movie 30 or 31 times a month for $10. After you sign up, takes about 2 weeks to receive your debit card that they wire the money to pay at the door. Everything is handled through their app.

I wasn't a believer but figured I would give it a shot at $10. So far, used it twice with no issues. Saw Hitman's Bodyguard and War for the Planet of the Apes at 2 different theaters.

AMC and Regal are the biggest here in SC. I had no problems getting them to accept the card. Their website says ALL major theaters accept it. 4000 across the country.

Will probably use it again Wed or Fri depending on the weather.

Saw IT and enjoyed it ok. I would say it's good, not great, which still puts it far and away above most other SK adaptations.
Really interested in seeing part 2 when it is released. Will be a bit of a wait though.

Used moviepass to watch American Assassin last night with no issues. Got in the parking lot , picked the movie and used their debit card to pay for it.

If you are into Jason Bourne type movies, this is pretty good.

Going to see Logan Lucky later today.

$10 a month is an awesome price, even if you only use it on the weekends.

Has anyone seen Mother with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem? Despite a decent 69% on RottenTomatoes it becomes one of less than twenty movies to receive an "F" rating by Cinemascore.

Sing and Trolls. Loved both of them, both were funny and loved the song choices.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2. It was just okay for me. Funny but weak plot.

Yup. I had no problem watching the whole thing because I needed resolution, except leading up to it I wanted to throw objects at the screen. I don't mind the payoff at all, but the entire movie was more irritating to watch than any part of The Mist. And by that I am referring to the characters involved.

Jennifer Lawrence gave it her all. The movie itself did exactly what it intended, but I was too upset to appreciate what I was watching. This ain't got nothin' on Black Swan. And yes, I understood all of the themes of this movie, which is why I won't trash critic praise. Aronofsky shot one hell of a movie, I'll say that much. It was just far too allegorical for my liking, and did not separate itself from [grounded] reality enough to cling onto its references in an ultimately desirable way. Like, just because there's "something to get" does not automatically warrant a green light or a critical pass.

I did not dig this one at all.

EDIT: On the other hand, now that I've seen the film's trailer... holy hell, whoever made this should keep their job for a long, long time. Way to get people into the theater.

Just the mere mention of "The Mist" makes me want to enter psychotherapy.

I heard this one too many times abou the the Mist, a reason I haven't watched it.

The Mist is an unfair comparison to draw this film to, aside from the fact they both have characters that make idiotic actions and have unrelatable ideals.

This one will be polarizing for sure. On the one hand, you'll get people who are upset that it is not the movie it is marketed to be, not to mention people who may not understand the film, or do understand it but still don't find its purpose (that's where I fit). On the other hand, you'll get critics praising it for its artistic merit, which actually may catch fire later down the road, but I sort of don't think so. It felt like a load of Aronofsky mind-vomit for the pretentious types to assuage their intellectual insecurities over.

What I'm going to say doesn't spoil the film's content, but it might set you up for something that the trailers don't tell you:

                              Spoiler

Now, for actual spoilers to get this to make more sense:

                              Spoiler

This is not what storytelling is about, no matter how clever Aronofsky was in pulling this together. And this wouldn't be such a bad thing if the movie didn't unnerve you with literally every character.

I watched Kingsman: The Secret Service last night. I'd never seen it before, and after watching it, I am wondering why it took so long. This movie is fantastic. I hope I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best action movies I've seen in a while. Cannot wait to see Golden Circle when it comes out.

(also, if you're a Prime member you can cop a digital copy of Kingsman: The Secret Service for 3.99 right now.)
