I’ve always believed if you’re going to make the stereotypic jokes in movies/shows, that they gotta be funny and you have to lean into it, which I thought they did.

I just couldn’t believe Lauren London and Jonah Hill as an actual couple, in the movie and in real life also. Like nothing about them at all would make you go “Yeah, I could see them dating in real life”.
I think the on screen chemistry was one of the big detractors for me. A lot of the dialogue between Ezra/Amira and Ezra/Mo didn't seem real to me and felt very forced. I just couldn't sense any chemistry. I know it may not make sense but you could convince me it was part of an NBA 2K My Career story.

There were a few laughs in there though, especially when they first visit Ezra's parents.. that's the kind of awkward comedy I usually like. It had my wife burying her head because she can't handle the awkwardness even on screen. It's also why she don't like The Office like I do.

The movie was stupid, but damn it the story is incomplete so I guess I gotta see the next one.

The retcons work and Momoa was a breath of fresh air. They just push the envelope where they shouldn't, and I try and give them as much leeway as possible.

Better than F9, but so is getting donkey-kicked in the groin. Even still, as all of them are so, I'm not mad for watching.

          The Little Mermaid

My favorite live-action Disney remake. Halle Bailey is a star. Melissa McCarthy steals it as well. Daveed Diggs as Sebastian and Awkwafina as Scuttle were a hilarious duo. This wasn't even one that I was necessarily looking forward to.

I will admit TLM is the one animated version that I am most forgetful of as I haven't seen its full form since maybe 10 years old or younger. That may help by not "comparing," but they were able to deliver enough vivacity in its live-action form for me to perhaps not care on the matter.

The only live action Disney reboot I have enjoyed thus far was Beauty and the Beast.

The original animated Beauty, Lion King and LM are all time classics.

I will watch this once it makes it’s way to Disney Plus. Good to hear you enjoyed it.

Antman Quantumania/Shazam Fury of the Gods
I'll just group the superhero movies together. I definitely have some superhero fatigue. I thought both movies were decent. Not great, but not terrible. The visuals in Antman were nice.

              Star Trek (2009)
I've always been more of a Star Wars guy. But I remember enjoying the Star Trek reboot, so I decided to watch it again. Pretty solid. I'll probably watch the other two over the next few days. Totally forgot Chris Hemsworth is (briefly) in this.

              Ford vs. Ferrari
Saving the best for last ... saw part of it on TV last weekend and decided to buy it so I could watch in 4K. Zero regrets buying it. What a fantastic movie. Bale is superb. Just a great great movie.

On that 80's kick again. Netflix added "Secret to my Success", a fun movie with Michael J. Fox at his 80's best. As a kid I didn't realize that Vera(Margaret Whitton) was also the owner in Major League .

Been missing my classic Horror flicks, so the wife and I had a Horror fest that we spread over 3 days...getting to old to have a serious movie marathon anymore..

1-The Omen-1976....none of that remake crap, the REAL Omen....lol
                        2-Damien Omen 2
                        3-Omen III-The Final Conflict

Didn't bother with Omen IV- The Awakening as I had seen once already, and that was enough.

But the originals are fantastic movies that didn't need to rely on the "gore" factor to be scary. So many great moments and performances in those films it's hard not to enjoy them.

Highly underrated and under appreciated trilogy. Sam Neil was
                          So damn young!!

The original is my favorite but Part II and III were great sequels.

Like you said part IV was hot garbage and not necessary.

Modern horror can never equal the vibe of those 1970s films. Especially a movie like The Omen, with a classic leading man like Gregory Peck.
