Checked out "She Did Him Wrong", and man was Mae West a terrible actress. I'll be fair though and give her the benefit of the doubt because it was what, her first main role and talkies were still in their infant stage. Gonna check out My Little Chickadee with W.C. Fields just to compare; I am expecting more badness.

Well her "acting" never really got better so don't go in watching that expecting a tour de force but W.C. Fields is good stuff. I find that classic era Hollywood comedy is very hit and miss to people of the current generation.

I guess you have to put yourself in the mindset of people back in those days to really fully appreciate some of the more lesser known/less acclaimed Classic Hollywood fare.

Sorry that you didn't like the movie though.

Ehhh the movie was okay, I didn't have a big problem with it (well, watching the woman who played her servant was pretty painful). I was just commenting on how bad she was really. I didn't think she got better because I've seen clips of Sextette, but just wanted to be sure by watching some stuff from her prime.

I actually like a lot of the classics, which is why I was willing to give this one a look in the first place. I'd never really seen any of Mae West's stuff for real besides clips and stuff so I wanted to how she was in comparison to some of the other, better actresses of her day like Davis, Hepburn or Crawford. She really doesn't.

Holloween 2007

Interesting enough. I watched the remake of Friday and 13th and decided i wanted to see the Rob Zombie remake of Halloween. It wasn't that bad, had a lot of Michael's past and up brining which is pretty cool; but they spent a little too much time on him as a kid in the insanity ward.

As a slasher movie, the remake of Friday the 13th was slightly better, but because Halloween had a bit more of character developement (or lack there of) from Michael's point gives it a more edgy feel.

Overall 7.8/10 I'll probably see the sequel, but i'm more ready for Trick or Treat

I watched Hungover yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It broke aways from the common wild-adventure template, and was presented in a way that made you have to think (or wonder is a better way to put it). I liked the ensemble. No A list actors, which made the story more authentic.

No Academy Award, but I went into the movie wanting some laughs, and I got a bunch of them.

Mae West always seemed to be a bigger piece of Americana vs. a great actress. By today's standards she's mild. But in her day she was considered over the top. The pairing with W.C. Fields in My Little Chickadee is a bit strange, but Fields is golden in several scenes. His mannerisms and wittiness are unique and classic. He was a helluva juggler too. (There might be some youtube vids showing him juggling.)

Just watched Balls of Fury on On Demand. Loved it - good movie. I don't get why it got such a bad name, it was funny as hell.

Watched the new Friday the 13th last night and it was terrible. There was some nice eye candy but the movie just seemed bad on all fronts.

I re-watched Varsity Blues, and i cant get past how bad the acting was. But it's so damn quotable

The Unborn - Nice eye candy but that about it.

Dorothy Mills - I found it a tad boring sometimes but overall decent psycho-drama.

just watched Hot Rod....first time watching it a year ago i thought it was stupid but it was only thing on, i gave it another try yesterday and thought it was hilarious....the little things in the movie are the best part.....and when Hot Rod when down the street and crashed flying into a tractor trailer i was cracking up

Watchmen 8.6

Very good movie, happy to see that it didn't hold your hand the entire ride and dumb to you death (Transformers 2). The actor was great and the story was good as well. I only read half the graphic novel, so i'm not sure how the novel ended, but the ending to the movie did a leave a little to be desired.

I hated Superbad the first time I saw it. Gave it another try a few months later and now I love it. Besides the "fetish" drawing, Superbad is a must see.
