Running With Scissors - Really crazy movie, about really crazy people. I didn't find it to be all that good, but there were some hilarious lines.

Apocalypto - Finally sat down and watched this. I seem to remember some kind of controversy when this movie was released, and I don't remember a lot of critical praise. I thought it was great though.

Well I was going through insomnia and decided what the heck, let's watch an old Disney animated flick. I didn't go for anything traditional though I went with a mid '80s Disney flick which I think was one of the most interesting times for the animation studio actually as they really experimented a bit.

      The Great Mouse Detective

It was an interesting movie as it took the whole Sherlock Holmes idea and put it in the world of mice and rats. I was a little shocked to see a whole vignette in a seedy pub where one female mouse was doing a near striptease act! There was some very good voice talent in Vincent Price as the villain but he didn't sound very much like himself which was pretty interesting.

Anyways it's the most un-Disneylike Disney movie i've seen so far.

I give it about 3 stars

Going on a serious movie binge.

Today: Fast and the Furious ($2 theater)
                Push (redbox $1)
                Knowing (redbox $1)
Taking of Pelham 123 (emovie cash)

Up next: The new John Cena movie (blockbuster)
                X-Men Origins: Wolverine ($2 theater)

PSA: Blockbuster has a 7 day unlimited movie and gaming rental plan for $10

Sweet deal if you're planning on watching a lot of movies and blockbuster is close.

Just for the record, Push was pretty good. Much better than Jumper but failed to come to any resolution.

                    Land of the Lost- 6.8/10

For a movie that made it on the sliver screen, it was sort of low budget. I had its funny moments, however really not worth the price of admission to see it. The story was pretty bad, and so were the lizard man.

It doesn't surprise me since it's a Will Ferrel movie, and the source material wasn't very intriguing to begin with so in all MEH

However i do remember watching the 90s version and it took its self serious and was entertaining

Vicky Cristina Barcelona - Man with the setting and the lifestyles portrayed, I got completely lost in this movie. The women (Scarlett Johannson, Penelope Cruz and Rebecca Hall) didn't hurt either. I really enjoyed it.

We Own the Night - I was into it until the end. Still ended up as a decent flick.

                        watched the following blus:
                        The Usual Suspects (classic)
                        The Justice League (just okay)
                        Taken (straight ruthless)
12 Rounds (John Cena flick--not bad)

Saw Year one last week and rented appaloosa over gthe weekend. Appaloosa was solid, Year One was funny albeit crude. Michael Cera steals every scene he's in.

Dr. Strangelove on blu last night. I love this film. Its not what one would expect when they see that Kubrick directed it, but the humor and social commentary is on point for the whole film.

                                Defiance- 8.5/10

Really good movie, however some of the accents sounded off, sometimes it didn't even seem like they had accents

The story was pretty good as well and actually even more interesting because it was based on a true story.
