Like all of the D.C movies, it was awesome. D.C. is certainly on top with their animated movies, much so then Marvel. It doesn't treat you like a 8 year old boy, but a person who has a brain to think and follow along. Gave me a great intro to the Lantern's background.

I knew Sinestro was his arch enemy, but it was cool seeing how he fell into that situation. The movie started out very abrupt though, not sure if the comic did the same. Soon as it started within the first 5 mins, Hal got his lantern powers.

To conclude, can't wait for the next D.C. film.
I agree that DC movies are better imo than most Marvel releases. Most Marvel releases seem to be dumbed down too much.

I finally saw Watchmen last night for the first time ever. At this time I still don't know what to think. It was a different comic book movie but it ended me just wanting more I guess.

Glad you liked it. It's hard to talk about the movie without giving spoilers, but at the same time it isn't one of those movies that try to confuse you with a big reveal at the end. You know what's going on the whole time, it's good just watching the story unfold.

It was too long imo at 3 hours and with the Ultimate Edition coming in December which adds the entire Black Freighter story, I can see this clocking in at over 3.5+ hours. Watchmen wasn't bad, but what I didn't care for was the constant flashbacks, it kind of threw things off.........but from my understanding that the series was written the same way. It stayed true to its source.

The middle was kind of slow, but it helped build Scorpio as a complete lunatic with the beginning and end building Callahan. The beginning makes it seem like Scorpio was killing with an agenda, but by 2/3 into the film you finally realize how crazy that bastard really was. I still don't know what to think about the police chief and Mayor not being called "into action" until the teenage girl was taken hostage. Scorpio had shot the face off a 10 year old black kid, but they weren't dazed at all until that girl got "kidnapped." Perhaps sign of the times, but I couldn't help but think that this would still hold true today.

Its hard to tell, but when I see Clint in Dirty Harry I see Dirty Harry, not Blondie. Apparently, Clint had to turn down the role initially.

Wasn't he known as "Blondie" only in The Good, The Bad & The Ugly? And then, it was only a sarcastic name given to him? Do you mean Clint had to turn down the DH role? What do you mean "had to"?

Man With No Name is what his character is titled as for the trilogy. When Clint was first offered Dirty Harry he was committed to another project, so the timing didn't work out. The part was then offered to Frank Sinatra, among others, before eventually falling back into Clint's lap. Or so says the note in my Dirty Harry boxset.

And I still cannot believe Chico was Papi from Seinfeld!

                      Watchmen

Ugh, absolute agony. Is it ever going to end. Ah, looks like the credits are coming up now. Got to rank up there with the all time stinkers.

Bought it a couple of hours ago and watching it as we speak. It's the first time watching it since I saw a pre-screening. I like it as much as I did last time, only this time I'm well aware of the art and style, thus I'm liking it more.

I just don't know how many times I'll be able to watch it by myself now, but I'll definitely be able to watch it with others as long as they can stand it.

I get the hate for The Watchmen. I definitely don't share it, but I get it.

Saw The Orphanage yesterday. It's a Mexican thriller. Had some genuinely creepy moments and a really nice "Ohhh **** son!" moment that came out of nowhere. Really well made movie, definitely recommend.
