Re: What movies have you seen recently? Part 1

The Quick And The Dead-Good western. I was in the mood to watch a western last night in anticipation for Red Dead Redemption and enjoyed this. It had a great cast. Sharon Stone (so fine), Gene Hackman, Russel Crowe, and a young DiCaprio. I loved every scene involving the duel's.

Wilderness- Ok movie about a group of young prison inmates in England who are punished by being sent to a remote island for "character building." There were 6 in the group and only 1 guard with them, so it seemed kinda odd to me they would send a guard into the woods on an island alone with 6 prisoners who weren't handcuffed or anything. Anyways an ex-special forces guy terrorizes them with his arching and booby-trap skills.

just got back from Iron Man 2. I thought it was pretty good but as Blzer pointed out there are some very big faults with it. I went in knowing nothing about the movie. Once I realized War Machine was in I was excited to see him in action but, he wasn't in action all that much.

Scarlett Johansson is looking super hot in the movie, I concur 100 percent with Blzer on this. I was already a fan of her but a redheaded Scarlett Johansson? Sign me up. Gwyneth Paltrow also looking nice as well.

Wow you weren't kidding. Easily the worst movie i have seen this year and was complete garbage.

Amazingly the 2nd Boondock Saints movie made more in the first weekend then the first one did in it's entire run but was SOOOOO much worse. I would have been pissed off if i had paid to see this at the cinema....

Donnie Brasco-Instant classic for me. Watched this on Netflix instant yesterday and immediately rated it 5 stars after it was over. Depp was outstanding, it was one of his best roles I've seen. Pacino was great like always. This was a very well done movie about the mob that didn't rely too much on violence. There was only one scene really where there was violence. I found myself getting really connected to both Depp and Pacino's characters. I can't believe I've never heard of this movie until I saw it on Netflix.

Julie Benz gave one of the single worst performances I have ever seen in a movie. Sean Patrick Flannery looked overweight and out-of-shape in most of his scenes. The cops were not anywhere close to humorous this time, just gave stupid cheesy comments that made me laugh more out of pity that I was putting myself through watching the movie, etc.

I guess I should stay far, far away from Boondocks Saints 2 since I wasn't a fan of the first.

Anyway, I watched Walk Hard last night. First all, Jenna Fischer looks fine as hell when they fix her up a little bit. I always thought she was cute on the Office, but damn she's was fine in that movie. As for the movie itself, it was funny mostly because of the supporting characters and I just found the whole setup of the film itself the funniest part because it knocks down Walk the Line following the same formula, but making things even more obvious (ie: continually repeating the "big stars" names). I thought the cameos were awesome. Good movie.

Took a while but finally watched Pan's Labyrinth. Amazing movie! Can totally see why it won so many awards and praise!

Great story, great characters and acting (MUCH prefer movies with captions rather than dodgy dubbing) and really captures your imagination! So glad to have finally seen it!

                    The Collector-8.7

Friend of mine said the movie was superb, one of the only recent movies to sort of get to him; and because of that i decided to watch it. Definitely a thrill ride through and through.

Theres just one thing that gets to me in these movies; the bad guy doesn't have super power or anything, why the hell can't he ever be knocked down? I mean really........a good old fist fight would of sufficed. But other than that, it was definitely something interesting and because it is from the writers of the Saw series, there were some pretty interesting gadgets death traps set around the movie.

I saw it in theatres. Just your ordinary torture porn, IMO.

Saw "The Lovely Bones" yesterday. Pretty good but it was very cliche...and very trippy. It had a decent story but there was some really weird stuff going on.
Not a fan of Mark Wahlberg though.

Really it wasn't, there was hardly a scene with a naked girl, yes at one point the chick came home with her boyfriend, but that lasted no more than 5 mins. Most of the movie was did with a tension and suspense.

I liked the story, but wasn't a fan of all the weird riding the unicorns and the fantasy world type stuff. I know this was part of the book but I would of enjoyed the movie better if all that stuff wasn't in it.

                                Just finished "The Losers."

A lot better than I expected. Pretty decent twists, cool action scenes, decent (albeit kinda cliched) storyline, and some good, action-movie acting.
