I agree with that. The story was fantastic and it looked great as well. I don't think this movie was intended to be a comedy. Just a story about life with some funny moments. I need to get this once I get a new tv and BluRay.

You're right. I mentioned the pop culture references because that's what I was really expecting. Pixar is good with that, the little side comments that adults get but kids have no clue.

Pixar chose to make the theme more serious instead. I have no problem with it. I loved the film. I thought it was great. It reminded me a lot of the purpose behind Incredibles. And Incredibles is without a doubt my third favorite Pixar film behind Finding Nemo and Toy Story.

I wish Pixar's creators and writers could branch out into more serious, live-action films.

I loved The Incredibles, it's one of my favorite Pixar movies. The guy who wrote and directed Wall-E is doing a live action movie.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Slightly OT, but for the first time in Cars I noticed one of these references and couldn't stop laughing. When Lightning McQueen has to do his spokesperson ad for Rusteez and goes out on stage when presented, it's really quiet amongst the rusty cars crowd, but very very quietly you can hear one of them in the audience yell, "Freebird!"

            It's hilarious!

You actually find a lot pop culture moments in Pixar films? That's Dreamworks' territory (see Shrek...and all the mediocre to awful ones like Madagascar and Shark Tale), not Pixar...unless you're talking about the mega chain/store stuff from Wall-E.

Agreed about the rest. My son really enjoyed the movie but not in the same way that my wife and I did. A phenomenal film, though, one of the best (if not THE best) of the year.

EDIT: Forgot about Cars, which Blzer mentioned.
