It's ok. I've heard the sample flipped better before and Jay-Z is somewhat of a hypocrite.

He's never been afraid to jump on what's hot at the moment when he was in his commercial prime. Now that the younger guys have a new sound that he can't get into, he hates on it.
"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."

Re: Jay-Z "D.O.A (Death of Autotune)"

What bothers me is that he is so damn arrogant now that he thinks anything he does or says will be hot. That junk is just trash. He is talking, literally talking, over a beat and people think thats hot? That "hey hey goodbye" thing is STRAIGHT WACK!! how do people not realize that it sounds horrible?

Autotune blows but Jay Z just because Jay Z makes some horrible song about it doesn't mean crap to me.

20 rappers? Heres 20 that may not have the discography that Hova has but would probably put out a better album right now. I mean Kingdom Come and American Gangster were so painfully average it kills me

      Phonte
      Royce
      Budden
      Blu
      Obie
      Kweli
      Nas
      Kanye
      Lupe
      3000
      Masta Ace
      AZ
      Torae
      Chaundon
      Jean Grae
      Sean Price
      Drake
      Termanology
      Fashawn
      Ghostface

I mean really, what was the last hot track Hova did? The I'm Hustlin Remix a few years ago?

Jay Z was great through his first 3 cds, after that I found it to be more of the same. There's is no doubt he can flow, but I'm just not into him anymore.

What rapper DOESN'T act that same way LOL.

But yea, I won't even comment on the rest of that list because this'll end up turning into an Underground Rap vs. Mainstream Rap thread and I won't even let it go there so i'll just simply say I disagree with the majority of that list with the exception of 3 rappers(Dre 3 Stacks, Nas, Ghostface)

And no I am not a Jay fan either but if I feel something is good, then I will give props when due.

I agree, as far as what rapper gets super hot and stays the same.
kanye, jay, lil wayne, lil kim, trina, camron, etc...
but jay is on another level, by far. I am a jay fan but that doesn't mean I like everything he does.
couple of others on his level, I would say lupe, talib, common..

              Kanye
Kanye has the EXACT same style as Jay Z. They just talk over a beat. Kanye is just as arrogant too.

I'll take Jay-Z's rhymes over Kanye's anyday. As for the song, it's pretty decent. I respect Jay-Z and enjoy some of his work, however boasts way too much. I'm more into the underground scene where this type of boasting is second hand to storytelling and real emotion.

Jay Z is the only rapper I know that throws out 3 word bars, pauses for 5 seconds, and repeats. His flow has gone wack

Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint, Vol 1 and 2, Hustlin Remix, Diamonds remix, etc....good

Blue Magic, this song, etc.... bad

True at this point though what mainstream rappers can't rip a verse better than Hov? He's not even trying anymore, it really disgusts me.

I love arguing with mainstream baby rap fans.
