I don't disagree with anything you said. In fact, I'm willing to bet the 40-60 year old crowd will love this film (not saying that because of you man haha
). Everything in this film just felt so "traditional," and it was an interesting style and take. Traditional effects, action, and gadgets (no more "exploding pens" haha). I just wish the story itself had more drive to it. If you look back and think about it, you'll ask yourself what story elements actually drove the film, and you'll find yourself realizing there were only one or two in the whole film.I wish Silva was explained/explored a bit more, too. CR had plenty of Le Chiffre and QoS might have had too much Greene (making him appear very "diabolical" when he's just a lame wimp), and there was room here to explore the space with Bardem. What a loony villain, though. He reminded me a bit of The Joker and that guy from Hanna who whistles all the time.
