The price difference isn't really justified.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
Price difference is totally justified if you use audio/video programs. I think PCs are a little underrated regarding art programs, but if you're not gaming, then I'd DEFINITELY suggest getting a mac. I'm going to pick up a PC laptop for some gaming myself, but I'm not doing any work on it.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
You can't blame 'em since Apple is your sole source for a Mac. Windows has dozens of manufacturers plus people who can DIY the PC so naturally, a PC can be bought at a cheaper price.
In Apple's view, you're buying software/hardware all built from one source to ensure quality/reliability with some high-tech materials used to boot. On the PC side, people can buy the parts themselves and assemble them (much cheaper than pre-built) or get pre-built PCs at lower prices compared to Macs.
In the end, both will always have detractors. It doesn't mean both aren't equally great machines with their own pros and cons. As for me, I love my PC for gaming and as a streaming hub. I love my Macbook for everything else.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
I guess the truth hurts.
Their computers are ridiculously overpriced. I'd actually probably try their OS if it weren't for that; they do have some great things to offer. But I can build myself a top line PC from scratch for a fraction of the cost of a bottom of the line Mac.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
this is what's always bothered me about mac's. especially when you consider the fact that since they have intel based macs now, there are...."ways" of getting osx to run on a pc, so for the price of the cheapest mac, I could build a super pc, install osx on it, and get the best of both worlds.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
They're not that much better, from my experience, though. In fact, I wouldn't say they better at all - I'd say they're different and have different strengths and weaknesses. My dad has been using them his entire computer life, and he hates the things - they've given him nothing but trouble. However, he's got an XP machine at home just so he has something, and he finds it far better for his needs.

Owned.
Totally agree. It was hard for me to shell out the money for a MBP, but after a week with it, I'm glad I spent the extra cash.XBL: DTX3

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
This should settle the debate
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
I like linux (a big reason I like OSX a lot as well), just don't really have a use for it at home....
I also get stabby whenever I see the Microsoft or Apple commercials. They're both irritating (but good ads for what they want to do).
I'll also say that if you have a PC with some sort of antivirus software you'll be fine. I'm using Vista and don't get viruses, don't get BSOD's, etc. Though this is assuming you're not a complete moron who lets any program run on their computer...Clicking "OK" to everything is a bad idea.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

As far as the commercials, the PC commercials annoy me a lot more than the Mac ones. Mac are at least some what funny, these aren't and the people are annoying.Comment

Re: Apple can't stand the MS heat
It almost seems like the people buying those PCs on that video joint were knowledgeable that they were being recorded for a M$ commercial and were acting the part a bit. It's kind of irritating a bit. The Mac vs. PC joint was funny. It seemed more or less like a poke at them. If Apple had more software compatibility like M$, then it would definitely grasp a bigger piece of the pie.Comment
