Been watching LOST since day one, but I am curious, did J.J. Abrams & co. come up with the plot and ending 6 years ago or has the material from the last couple of seasons written more closer to the shows air dates?

At times I find the show fascinating yet ridiculous and absurd.

I would assume the mother is Sarah, his wife from the "other reality".

I assumed the wife was that Italian girl he almost cheated on his fiance with. Wasn't her dad an amazing piano player? Also - I don't think 108 meant anything. I think Jacob just wanted Hurley to START to turn it to 108 - I'm pretty sure the whole intention was for Jack to see himself at 23.

Also - how about Smokey using smoke and Jacob using mirrors? It's all smoke and mirrors.

And last night... Claire saying its her friend... didn't she appear plenty of times with Jack's Dad. Apparently the MIB was acting like him too?

At times I find the show fascinating yet ridiculous and absurd.

The story was that they came up with the ending of the show when they started it -- so before they taped the first episode they had a vision for how it would end. How they get there is the part that has probably changed along the way, but the start and end were thought about before the series began (generally a lot of writers do it this way anyway).

The lighthouse was interesting tonight. Jin is taking a big risk by lying to Claire I think. When she finds out he's lying to her, she is going to try and kill him.

I envision some sort of Ghostbusters thing going on between Sayid and Claire. "Are you the key master?"

Yeah, I don't think it's going to be Sarah. My guess was originally Anna Lucia when I saw the kid, but since the kid is so artsy I don't know who it will be -- arts and Anna Lucia don't seem to mix.

PS, what was the deal with Jack asking about the scar on his gut? I guess he was freaked out because it looked new? Or is the parallel reality of his surgery on the island somehow bleeding over to the other reality?

Yeah, this. Although Jacob seems like one to lie a bit so you never know. And 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 = 108

I don't think Losties would be coming since they are in the other reality -- where the island they are on is buried beneath the sea. My guess is Desmond because when we last saw him in Season 5 he had been shot but Penny seemed to think he wasn't going to just be a dad now. So I think Penny and Des (and their son) are coming on their boat. Now, how they figure out the coordinates to get back is anyone's guess.

I assume he's recruiting people to stop the people in the temple and so he can be free to leave the island. He can't do that on his own. And yes, the MIB was Jack's dad since he controls the dead to some extent. The temple people also said Claire died and came back to life (they compared her to Sayid) -- I want to know who killed her and how she came back.

Well Richard surely thought MIB wanted to kill everyone, but little Jacob (or at least I assume that one kid who MIB and Sawyer could see was little Jacob) said that was against the rules.

I think somehow what is happening in the alt reality is sort of guiding what is happening on the Island. Jack seems a little more sincere (like his off island self), Kate wants to find Claire (being really close to her now off island) and Hurley seems very confident and overall bad *** (being very lucky in the alt reality).
