I agree, very good ep overall but they did focus a tad too much on him being chained in the ship.
I don't understand why Alpert told Jack & crew on the beach that they were all dead and in hell when he knew that wasn't the case, as we learned later in the ep."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Lots of answers.
We got Alpert's story. No more questions about him. We got everything we needed to know about him.
He even helped us understand why the statue is broken. Didn't see that one coming. Though, I see that the writers wrote in a storm when we never saw one in the S5 finale. The only thing I can assume is that things look better on the Island than in the real world.
As predicted, with Alpert's story would come big information on MiB and Jacob. We learned what Jacob is doing by sending people to the Island. We learned his hope, his entire goal.
Got to see that MiB has been using the same speech to get people to kill Jacob for years. Still don't know much about his past but I think that's coming soon.
I still find it very interesting that Jacob and MiB communicate so calmly despite the obvious tension. Those are some serious rules.

Not as great an episode as everyone makes out. Very disappointing for me, I kept looking and thinking is when is the good stuff going to start. Not the mind blowing episode they were making it out to be.I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

Its gonna be real hard for the writers to come up with satisfying ending at this point.
Im kinda gonna be pissed if MiB/Locke gets killed and doesnt make it off the island.
