    Re: Iron Man 2

Finally saw this tonight since I watched the first one this afternoon finally as well.

I actually enjoyed it, though I didn't exactly go into it expecting to be blown away. A couple of things I noticed, and I'm sure it's been mentioned. The whole "technology is the future" thing was almost directly copied from Walt Disney's presentation on EPCOT. Also, Sen. Stern reminded me a whole lot of David Stern, but maybe that's just me.

Like I said though, I enjoyed it for the most part. Whoever played that one girl was smokin'.

I was thinking the same thing. Either he was referring to the process server in the beginning of the movie, or he doesn't know who Scarlett Johansson is.

It would be shocking not to know who she is.

          Maybe he's talking about Potts.

I could see someone misconstruing the female actress that portrays her, though her skinny body type is pretty identifiable as is. But I wouldn't go so far as to say she was "smoking" in any way, especially when you have another red head in the picture that just completely obliterates her in every way physically.

Still strange that he wouldn't know who she is.

              True.

The comparison puts it in perspective.

Watched it on IMAX and here's my thoughts:

                - While I enjoyed it, I thought the first one was better.
                - The final fight just felt disappointing to me. I understand the rationale that Iron Man and War Machine are both incredibly kick *** and super powerful, but still ... just felt so freakin' short.
                - Just wish there was a bit more action in general.
                - Don Cheadle is much better than Terrence Howard.

Imagine Terrence Howard doing a comicbook fight scene

That movie was awesome. I'm sure in a bit, I'll have calmed down from my general euphoria, and get more rational, but for right now, the movie kicked ***.

Finaly saw it, and as expected, loved it.

The stuff after the credits got me excited as well

It was pretty good. I can see why some did not enjoy it. I thought it was a bit long. I also feel like Howard was a better fit for the Rhoady role. At least I liked the character better in the 1st one. I felt the dynamic between Stark and Rhoady was better.

The action could have been better, I felt that the fight scenes were a bit TOO scripted, by which I mean you knew what was going to happen next, it was attack, counter, attack, counter, attack and then a special move that ends the fight.

I loved it and thought the plot was surprisingly inventive. They dispensed with the usual global terrorist bad-guy stuff and focused on a personal vendetta played brilliantly by Mickey Rourke.

I agree the final fight was too short, and I also hate it when a key character changes (Terrence vs cheadle). Reminded me of the Matrix Reloaded when they switched from "Tank" as the operator because the actor wanted too much money. Is that what happened to Terrence by the way?

Howard wanted more for his role as well. He is a great actor but I believe Will Smith would had made a better Rhodey. He has the physicality and charisma. If not Smith then that scientist guy from 2012 who name is too damn hard to spell or pronounce.

Chiwetel Ejiofor. I think he'd be perfect as the Black Panther if they added that character in an Avengers movie.
