    Re: Transformers 3

Hey, can't say that I don't want a third Transformers movie, despite my hate for the second one. I just hope that Bay wises his act. I was hoping he would do it after the first one, despite having minimal Bayisms; but he took those -isms and expanded them tenfold in TF2.

Again, I just hope he makes a solid Transformers movie this time around, and I'll be there for a midnight showing.

The twin robots from Revenge of the Fallen will not appear in TF3.

Well that's good to hear those robots were ANNOYING!

I have very little expectations for this movie though just because it's helmed by Michael Bay. You can fool me twice but no more then that.

That's good news. I liked the first movie, but hated the second one, and the twins were a big part of that. It'd be nice to see Bay make a more "mature" Transformers movie and cut out all of the 12-year old humor.

I think I'm just going to hold on for a little bit of faith this time around. I understand that ROTF was partly shot without an unfinished script due to the writer's strike, so they never quite had a complete story to mesh together for their own sake. Meanwhile, this time around Bay had already met with Kruger for an initial draft several months ago, meaning pre-production is getting a lot more attention this time around.

It doesn't really help where they went with characters, though. Leo has to go, and Simmons is just a hack now. Starscream was just Megatron's little bitch in ROTF, and I expect more of the same this time around.

But getting rid of Skids and Mudflap was a good first step. I hope Sideswipe gets more screen time, he was bad-*** in the Hong Kong scene.

Meh, I loved both 1 and 2. Can't get enough of giant robots kicking ***. Just wish they would've focused more on the robots and less on the humans.

I loved Transformers as a kid but I'm slacking on the movies now. Didn't watch the first one or the second one. If I ever decide to sit down and watch the first one then I will probably take a chance on the third one (depending on whether or not I enjoyed it). I'll skip the second one entirely.

I wouldn't mind that, but they completely lost me during the Cybertron scene (and when The Fallen spoke to a mass audience regarding Sam's fugitiveness, which led to absolutely nothing).

Transformers did a lot of things very well, whereas ROTF fell off the map even with the human interaction. As much as people loved it, it all started with the shot of Megan Fox on a motorcycle.

I also think they should do away with the small robots. Frenzy in TF1 and Wheelie in TF2 were just a detriment to how cool the big bots are. Also, I liked the character of Jetfire, but his computer-generated likeness was just a bit much. Having a walking cane, beard-like features and spewing out fuel didn't help the otherwise fake looking CGI given the light that we saw him in. I thought the CGI itself in TF2 was inferior to TF1, just by looking at the robots when standing still and how they didn't mesh well with the scene. I definitely didn't expect that.

I pretty much agree with most of this. Lots of things to wish for, but in the end, pretty sure Michael Bay is just gonna do more of the same. I'll keep my expectations in check and just expect to see a similar movie for the third one, which isn't really too bad for me at least considering I liked the first two. But it would be nice to see some improvement.

Love me some Transformers. i just wish they would watch some of the language and sexual themes. My 6 year old loves the toys and we took him to see the movie and I cringing and covering ears and eyes at some of the scenes. I mean the movie could still be just as good without the curse words or the adult themes. Other than that I love the robots and the optimus forest scene is awesome.
