Just rooted my Photon last night, its was simple as 1-2-3, very easy and you will not mess up, you just can't, plus if you decide to sell the phone down the line on your own, its worth more rooted.

It just may be, but at what cost, I think version data plans are just unreal.

the only way is if you bring it in to a store and they see the super user icon, that's about it.

I've had to un-root twice before taking my phone in to sprint.

AT&T figured out a way for its IPhone users, but I haven't heard anything about it on android phones yet.

I've never been charged. I don't use it much either. I'm in the tablet market so I'm sure that'll change but I won't abuse it. I've read some people try to use it as their primary internet connection playing consoles. That is ridiculous.

The hot Spot that's on my phone right now from sprint is the one your talking about?

If so, the hotspot will connect and you will see it, but you can use it unless you pay for the service. Rooted my phone and using the tether app I guess uses other IP in such a way you don't get charge for anything and its free.

As far as you saying people are crazy for trying to tether there phone to play there console online is an understatement. On Sprint 4G network I went to speedtest.net and and My MPS are at 21mps which unreal to me on qa phone, so if I could his tethering to work on my PSW3 I would definitely take advantage of it.

                        No chance.

Also, you can always un-root. So, come an issue where the warranty needs to come into play, make sure you do all the steps to unroot.

I remember reading a while back that Verizon was figuring out if people were doing this and redirecting them to their Tether page...I don't think you get in trouble though, so they may not find out.

I'm on T-mobile ( ) and on my Sensation, I was using the hotspot that came with it, and was not being charged; I still do.

It's funny because on T-mos website it states an extra 20-30 for that feature, but no charges ever showed up on my account.

Nice! I'm sure you can get away with it, just wanted people to know that the carriers were probably starting to sniff the traffic and figure out what was illegal hotspot. As time goes on they'll want to force people to pay.

yep and would help give them the ammo to do away with unlimited data.
