Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
but from what i read, you can't always move apps to the SD card. and even when you do, sometimes the space gained isn't all that much.
...and i definitely plan on playing GTA:VC one more time on that gorgeous 5" screen. that's 1.5GB right thereComment

Wanted to thank fishepa for recommending Textra. Love the speed of it.
Really miss my privacy box from GoSMS, though.

You can root the phone, which will really get you what you need. Stock once you remove the stuff you don't need, is running great and I'm really not missing roms right now.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
What do you guys think about sanitizing phones with Clorox/disinfectant wipes?
Does it do damage to the screen? HTC one has speakers up front, I wonder if the "juice" from the wipes would get in there and harm anything. I've been wiping my phones down daily with one for a while now, but not sure if I should keep doing it with this new phone.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Hm. I don't know about Purell-type stuff. Is the toilet paper abrasive? I feel like it might scratch the screen or leave little white crumbles on it.
I'm thinking of just buying a stack of like, 100 microfiber eyeglass cleaning cloths to wipe/protect. Might just be going overboard, though.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
It's worked fine for me. I had a screen protector and did it without one for a while. Even do it on my Kindle. Unless you buy the cheapest of toilet paper I'm not sure it would be abrasive.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My Verizon Galaxy Nexus no longer wants to charge (broken charge port now I think)....I'm upgrade eligible, so it's pretty much either HTC One or Galaxy S4.
I'm thinking HTC One (I think I'll like the metal case better), but Galaxy S4 isn't bad either (sounds like it has some bloatware features).
Any quick inputs? Probably have to go sometime later today.
How's battery life for you guys on HTC One? I always had issues with the Galaxy Nexus (even on extended battery) going all day, but I think the new phones don't have as much of a problem with that.
Every comparison of these 2 phones I read is a coin flip. I don't think I want a phone as big as the Note 3.
32 GB will be enough for me, so SD slot really doesn't impact me much.
Thanks for the input guys, i know some of you have these phones so can help me figure this out!Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
T-mo waived a migration fee for moving to their new plans without asking, and upgraded my old man to a S4. I will gladly set it up for him...I only got to fiddle with one for a couple of mins.
Note 3 pre-orders start tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure I'm caving.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
For me - I HATE cases, and as nice as the HTC is I know I would need one to avoid scratching up the aluminum. The S4 is pretty ridiculously thin without a case and since it's mostly plastic I don't have to worry about scratching too much - I could always just replace the back cover if it got really bad.
My wife is more of a phone user than data user. She actually had the HTC for 2 weeks, but had serious call quality issues with people on the other end hearing her. Seems to be a software issue - the HTC is trying to do background noise cancellation but being too aggressive about it. Switched to the S4 as well, with the flip case.
Bloatware - I'd say yeah, out of the box the HTC runs a little smoother. You should still be able to root your S4 and uninstall the crap. My wife hasn't complained too much yet though, so she is still running 100% stock. My S4 came with an older ROM and I was able to flash Cyanogenmod on it - LOVE it.Comment

Two votes for the One... My gf and I.
The problem with asking for comparisons on these two phones is that very few people have used both and you really can't go wrong with either.
