I'm also not a fan of the battery life on the iPhone, which I was reading it is better on the S4. The Note 3 also looks beautiful, but I bit too big for a phone for me. I have till this Friday to make an exchange and I was thinking of going tonight or tomorrow to exchange, which would give me 2 days to play with the phone just in case I dislike it.
this is me...exactly. except i didn't even wait for the iPhone 5S to come out, i switched to the S4 about a month ago. LOVE IT. i also agree the Note is a little too large - in fact i had concerns about the size of the S4, but quickly got used to it. yes it is bigger, but it is very thin, and the ridiculous screen is WORTH IT.

iOS to Android is a little rough. things are just a little different and not always as smooth. i miss swipe to delete in the stock email app a lot. but once you get used to it, the flexibility and options you have available makes it all worth it.

i enjoyed my time with the iPhone but got bored (plus i still have an iPad). i like to tinker with gadgets. before the iPhone i was using Windows Phone (the old 5/6 versions) and was flashing custom ROMs there. my S4's already been flashed to Cyanogenmod 10.1.

Got prompted to update to Android 4.3 today on my One.

Is it worth updating? Any issues after updating? Briefly read Android Central and got the sense that reaction was quite mixed.

I've been ok on my Verizon One. Not sure it really adds much though, most of the updates were 4.2 ones that Verizon had all ready (the Verizon phone came out with a slightly updated version of OS).

Haven't read any info on it though, so that's just my normal use and not running into issues.

I have a question about my GS3. Whenever I try to open certain things with apps, such as going to my call logs and select a name, it gives me a screen saying "Complete action using" and then in this case two options, Phone and Skype. I press phone and click "Always" not "Just once". Yet I have to pick this option every time I do this. Shouldn't me clicking always save my choice so I don't have to go through that screen again?

Yeah, you're right. I don't have a GS3, but I get the same issue with web browsers (default, chrome, any others you install). Once I select "Always" for that action it sticks. I do sometimes have to do that for different actions (clicking in facebook vs email), but it usually goes away pretty fast.

My old phone (Galaxy Nexus... hard to believe it's 2 years old already) crapped out on me today. It's been doing this thing where it says my SIM card wasn't inserted (it was.)

Dropped by the Verizon store. Checked out the Note 3 (which was gorgeous) but it was just... too much phone for me since I already have a tablet.

Walked out with a nice shiny white Galaxy S4.

My Galaxy Nexus did the same thing to me yesterday. It had been giving that error for awhile but a reboot usually fixed it. Yesterday I couldn't get it to start working again. It had been having issues charging as well so not sure if that played into it.

I was tempted to get the S4 but I ended up getting the Moto X. I wasn't really planning on buying a new phone yet and the Moto X was only $100 at best buy. My company reimburses me $100 for smart phone upgrades so it worked out perfectly.

Really happy with the Moto X so far. I may eventually end up missing the ability to root/load ROMs but the stock experience on the Moto X is outstanding.

Saw that, but waiting for a full custom recovery before pushing. I'm able to WiFi tether without root, so I'm in no rush outside of bloat ware removal.

I have a small issue. I use the Gmail widget but whenever I'm done reading and go to back out of it, it backs out to the easy mode home screen. I don't have easy mode enabled so so does anyone know how I get it to stop doing that?
