Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Thanks. I'll give it lookcheck this out, it does require you to be somewhat technical, but there are tutorials to help

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My Note 5 got way better after the Marshmallow update. I'm on Sprint.
Regularly going to bed with 14, 15 hours of *my* normal use (about 1:15-1:30 screen on ) and still at about 40-50% left.
In the week or two before the update (and WITH things disabled on Package Disabler Pro) I was struggling to get more than 12-13 hours before getting below 20% or so. It was wildly inconsistent up to that point. Some days I would be able to get 20 hours. Other days 10. Incredibly bizarre.
If I were you I'd surf the Note 5 Reddit (I think it's r/galaxynote5) and the Android Central forums for the phone. Lots of specific help over there.Last edited by TheMatrix31; 04-05-2016, 08:19 PM.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I think people's expectations for battery life may be a little bit too high. I've gotten to the point that if it gets me through the day, i'm cool. My 6P and 6s Plus both do that."Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My battery has been terrible on my S6 Edge. Just got the 6.0.1 update, so hoping that will help. For some reason all of a sudden I'm getting estimations of less than 6 or 7 hours.
Before the last week or 2 I usually could go until I went to bed unless I used it a ton. Now it just drains and if Bluetooth is on, it's at the top even without being connected. I really don't want to do a reset, so hopefully it fixes itself.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My new Nexus 6P has been draining battery like crazy. I am getting very little SOT before the phone drains to the 40s. I disabled OK Google through Nova Launcher. I don't really play games, and brouse very minimally.
It drains between 10-20 percent a night. Any ideas as to what it could be?

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
This damn keyboard sometimes. I can misspell a word one time and it will add it to the dictionary, but a month of talking about "wrestlemania" and it still wants to auto correct to "wrestle mania", not a huge deal obviously, but still so damn annoying.
How do you stop background apps from ever starting up? Is my first mistake using Clean Master? It shows that 30-40 apps are running when you run the hibernation part of the app.Comment

try keeping that bluetooth and location off when your not using your phone. bluetooth and location kill battery. My new Nexus 6P has been draining battery like crazy. I don't use either at all. And my note 5 has about 40% by midnight every night and I use my phone like crazy.Last edited by RoyalBoyle78; 04-14-2016, 01:05 PM.N.Y Mets

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
bluetooth uses almost nothing unless it is constantly scanning or being used of phone/media
the screenshot also doesn't even show bluetooth in the usage list
@Peji911, review your usage list after a full day or so and see what the top % thing are. If you are on 6.0, you can click on those and see a lot of info, even how much power they have used. If an app is on the top that you aren't using, then something is keeping it running in the background.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Again just because the status bar shows them as on, doesn't mean they are using much power. The battery usage list shows the apps and processes that are using power on the phone. If Bluetooth isn't listed, then it isn't using power even though it is left on.
Bluetooth was designed for lower power usage. It uses nothing when it isn't connected to another device. Unless you are trying to save all possible power, you don't need to turn it off unless it shows up in the battery usage list.

Yes but that couldn't have been all the apps running, he would have to scroll down for the rest of the way like ever other android phone including mine.Again just because the status bar shows them as on, doesn't mean they are using much power.
