I'm sick of worrying about it too. I'm near outlets and chargers at all times. I just don't want to have issues with this phone since it'll likely be the last time I was able to get a phone on a 2 year upgrade price without any of this monthly payment bull****.
Agree, battery is definitely funny. There have been days I'm good days I'm like what a going in here. I love the phone still.

I'm just waiting for the MM update to see if the Doze feature helps a bit more. MM is suppose to come this month

Touchwiz is horrible. Nova made it smooth on the Note 4 though. I have been stock Android since I got the Nexus 6P.
So would you still recommend the 6P over other phones you've had?

I think I'm set on the 6P but I absolutely have to be sure because I cannot get another phone for at least a year or more or my wife will kill me. She understands this time because of the issues with the Moto X, but she's made it clear that this is it for a while.

Some people are getting 5, 6 hours of on screen time. How? I have no idea. My regular use ends up being about 1.5 hours of on screen time a day. I usually do most of my use listening to music while driving, or quick checks of things here and there rather than actually watching movies and such. Otherwise how the hell can someone actually use that many hours of on screen time?

That said, if they're getting 5-6 hours of SOT and still getting 15-20 hours for a full charge, in my mind that means I should be getting like 2 full days off a full charge given my "normal use" and that's definitely not the case. Everybody is different of course. I keep tweaking. I DLed Doze and ShutApp a few days ago but deleted them because while standby drain became nonexistent, the drain with the screen on was faster than usual. I've been using Package Disabler Pro too, which is nice but not descriptive enough. I have no idea what some of these things are and don't want to disable stuff that isn't obvious.

What I did last night was go through my physical applications manager and force-stopped a few things. Worked good for me today, still at 53% left after 13 hours of being used. Again, only 43 minutes of actual on-screen time, which is probably a little less than my standard normal use. Let's see what happens over the next few days.

Just want the phone to last a long time because again, as I said, this will probably be my last phone at the 2-year-upgrade price. It needs to last.

I like it a lot. Battery has been great for me. About 5 hours of on screen time and I don't have to charge my phone until about 9 or 10 pm every night. I just plug it up before bed. I am on LTE all day at work. The OS is really smooth as well. I can recommend it over my old iPhones and the Note 4.

I had the same issue with the Note 4. People would say they had great battery life, yet I was having to charge my phone by 3pm every day. I even bought a spare battery with me and neither gave me great life. I never could figure out what was draining my battery so much. Was a bit frustrating. I was getting around 3 hours of on screen time. 1.5 hours is nuts!

I guess I'm just expecting more, and I guess my battery life really isn't bad like I may think, I take my phone off my charger at 7:30 am every mooring and I charge it 12:Am every day before bed.

That's a full day, so I guess I cant complain and this is with auto brightness off and brightness in the middle. I would also consider myself a heavy user through out the day.

I finally gave in, and rooted my Nexus 6.

*Just a heads up, anyone rooting marshmallow may get a weird "Device is Corrupt" message when you boot your phone.

If you do, don't freak out. Your phone will boot up and is usable. What you will need to do is download a custom kernel, and flash it in recovery mode. Once that's done the message will go away*

Picked up a Nexus 6p recently. I gotta say, the battery life has been amazing, and I'm a huge fan of the rapid charging. Also, left sprint and joined Project Fi. So far, it's been great. It's cheap and the service so far has been very reliable.

How's your battery life looking? Mine is great as well. Definitely best battery life phone I've had and the phone is super smooth.
