Androidforums is my preference for everyman info. A ton of knowledge floating around there and it's a lot cleaner and doesn't give me the commercial vibe that androidcentral does. Here's the 3D specific forum.

The android section of xds-developers is where I go for highly technical info.

I also frequent androidforums but there is a lot of misinformation on that site and the mods do very little to control it... especially when it came to the EVO 3D when info was first getting leaked. Androidcentral is reliable, as is xda.

Hm, I guess it's just trial and error-ish. I guess when in doubt, trust OS above all.

Just received my invitation to the google music beta. www.music.google.com.

Early Impression is that I like. I was able to xfer all the songs I have from Itunes and other places on my computer to a cloud like music storage system. I can access all the songs from my computer or any computer and upto 6 android devices.

It is till in the beta so it it by invite only. It took me about 2 weeks form the time I requested it to get the invitation. Also, when you first sign up that ask you what kind of music you like for about 10 different genres and will give you free music. Nothing special but free music is free music. I have over 1700 songs on my itunes so it it taking a while to take all the songs and add them, but they are all being added.

          Pretty cool.

I believe you can. Not 100% but some of my songs had FRM on them and they were uploaded from what I can tell.

I think I'm gonna make the transfer to the white iPhone 4. My X drives me crazy so much, I switched back to my voyager for a month.

what part of it is bothering you?

By all accounts the Motoblur user interface hasn't been well received. If that's your issue,
try LauncherPro in the Android Market. The basic version is free.

LauncherPro froze like crazy when I had the free one and the one you pay for.

I deleted EVERYTHING off the phone, all apps, music. Only thing that was on there was contacts and texts. Still froze every time you went from screen to menu etc.

And today it honestly broke itself after the update. So getting the iPhone tomorrow. I just hope I saved all my contacts to the SD Card because I can't do anything on it.

                            Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Been around OS for a long time but never really looked in this forum until today. Anyway, I'm up for a new phone and thinking about switching over to Android from my iPhone 3GS. Ok, I've pretty much decided that I'm going to do it but now...what phone to get? AT&T is where we are now but I'm not opposed to a switch to Verizon.

Anyway...I've been eyeing the Atrix 4G for a few weeks now and just saw that AT&T dropped to $99. I went into a store today to look and a few things happened:
                            1) The Atrix seemed to be about what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less. In other words, I wasn't "wowed" by it in-store as much as I was online. Could be too much looking online though...
                            2) The laptop dock accessory is down to $299 and includes the handset. My initial thought was that, at $500, it was just a gimmick. I still find it to be a little gimmicky but $200 off plus the handset makes it a gimmick that I'd consider trying.
                            3) I was kinda wowed by the Infuse. Maybe it was nicely polished and the Atrix had been in the back getting charged up but it just seemed much more vibrant than the Atrix.

Anyway, I'm still leaning a little bit toward the Atrix but not as much as before I went in. Anybody try both? It looks like some of the early adopters of the Atrix weren't happy but wondering if anything has changed. The Infuse seems like it might be just a tad too big.

Also, any Atrix folks think it's worth an extra $200 for the laptop accessory? Like I said a $500-600 investment was too much for me but this deal is more realistic.

Finally, anyone believe that any Verizon smartphones are far superior to these two?

Verizon's android phones aren't anything special at the moment really. The Thunderbolt and Charge both have limited battery life using the 4g LTE network, and it's hard to sign a two year contract when the only dual core phone out on the network right now is the Droid X 2. Some people hate the screen it uses though.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is coming to US carriers soon, and will be the top phone on the market. One of the thinnest phones out, dual core, and a great screen.

                                This.

Supposedly coming out next month. I was going to try to hold out till fall, but my orginal Droid, while it works fine, is sluggish with some of the demands I place on it. It's been a great phone, but it's time to move on.
