Well the wife and I switched to Verizon today...she got the Palm Plus but of course I went with the Droid.

Sadly the dealer was out of them so its being mailed...can't wait to get my hands on it though.

Gotta sell my Bold 9700 now though lol.

Ok even though Live wall paper looks cool.......it drains the battery faster then a non moving wallpaper would.

I found some cool apps and thought I would share.

Engadget - cool app, get all the latest news that is techie, like yesterday I got all the Iphone news from the media event. And you can post news to your facebook page or twitter from it with ease.

Weather & Toggle Widget - cool widget that allows you to get the HTC flip clock and weather animations. Also comes with a lot of skins.

Rev3Remote - allows you to WATCH internet tv shows that comes on that website, like Tekzilla, Diggnation, etc. And its free.

Diggnation - If you just watch Diggnation, this is the app for you. It is free too.

Agreed. Ever since I installed it on my Droid, rarely do I ever use the keyboard, and when I went back to the stock on-screen keyboard, it felt so odd and slow.

Also JudgeJudy, how do you like the N1? Are people still having problems with the network and the other bugs?

                    Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread

I love my N1. I'm using it with T-Mobile and a lot of the OMG IT HAZ 3G ISSUEZZZZZ BRO! is greatly exaggerated because T-Mobile just has really bad 3G coverage in certain places. I definitely think there's some kind of software issue that tells the phone to switch over to EDGE in areas with spotty 3g, but personally I'd rather have all bars of EDGE than have one flickering bar of 3g that may or may not actually give me data. I came from a G1 and had always vowed not to get another Android until a new one with a keyboard came out (that wasn't from Motorola, I won't use their products). I took the plunge on the N1 anyway and once I found swype I was in heaven.

I haven't had any of the bugs people have gone on about. My touchscreen works great, I get great 3g coverage everywhere except my work (which is normal), I rooted it so I'm running a pretty sweet overclocked, undervoltaged kernel so my battery life is fine. I love the phone

I think swype is under a different name, like most cloned things are on the market place. Just like the HTC flip clock is under a different name now due to legal issues.

Far as coverage goes, yeah it really depends on where you live and only you will know how good it is where you live. And for where I live T-mobile, Cricket, Boost, At&t coverage is bad, with Cricket and Boost being down right terrible.

Actually At&t coverage is pretty good OUTDOORS, but go in any thick walled building and it drops down to 1 bar, out here anyway. Plus I am not feeling their inflated monthly cell phone bill either. You talking $130 or more a month here and that is not even unlimited.

                          Re: Official DROID Discussion Thread

Ok........quick rant if I may, just a heads up for those who don't know already. Don't believe the hype that ORB works for the Droid and you can watch live tv with it.

There are dozens of youtube videos of it. However every video and forum post of every Droid related website leaves out one very important thing.

You need a tv tuner card on your PC in order for it to work and your PC must be on. That is the only way ORB will work on the Droid.

Mobi Tv for some reason don't work on the Droid as of yet, but yet it works for any phone that has Vcast capabilities. Works on the Iphone too. Same thing goes with Flo Tv channels.

Kind of funny how does programs don't work but yet TV.com, Jetflicks and Rev3Remote allows you to watch tv on the Droid. They aren't live shows but it is tv shows never the less.

And of course the video plays a lot smoother if you enable wifi. Speaking of Wifi.......the Droid wifi is the shiznittttttttttttt.

Seriously it can pick up a signal from VERY far. I was in Walmart today just playing around and it picked up somebody's Netgear signal and the signal was pretty strong too because I also have the wifi analyzer app.

I was using that person's stream to watch some Family Guy while I was shopping, it was pretty cool.

What screen protectors are you guys using? I got the invisible shield but I haven't put it on yet. I picked up a 3 pack from verizon today and put one of those on. Do you guys think that should be good? Or am I really missing out by not using the Invisible Shield?

I'm not using any screen protectors. I remember hearing when the Droid first came out that screen protectors actually hinder the sensitivity of the touch-screen. Although I don't know this first hand, I've never put one on my Droid.

Till this day, (knock on wood), no scratches on my screen.

There's also a youtube video showing how tough the Droid screen is to small scratches and things likethat.
