Good choice, I have a Vibrant and love it. The one app you gotta get is launcher pro. I highly recommend getting the plus version, but there is a free version to try out. It is much better/smoother than the touchwiz launcher and is much more customizable. It really makes the phone fly.

IMO, the galaxy s phones are unmatched. They have the best screen (IMO), and undeniably the fastest CPU and GPU chips. The retina display has a higher resolution, but its contrast and brightness are nowhere close to super amoled.

Had to return my galaxy s due to a software problem on Samsung's end with the email service. Just got a Droid X to replace it. Downloading 2.2 as I type. I like the Galaxy better bjt when it is supplied through work I guess I really can't complain.

What do you guys think if Verizon's Certified Pre-Owned phones? I was thinking about getting the DX CPO since its $50 less.

Hadn't seen this thread before. Hopefully I will be getting my new (and first) droid phone today or tomorrow after ordering it back on the 16th with one day shipping at amazon. Seems like it will be worth the wait though.

What do you guys think if Verizon's Certified Pre-Owned phones? I was thinking about getting the DX CPO since its $50 less.

I have no idea, but I have seen a lot of people who have had to send several refurbs back before one was acceptable

My upgrade date is coming up this Friday. How foolish am I thinking I can hit up any of the stores in my area and walk out with an EVO?

I hope Verizon comes out with a EVO type smart phone before the year is out. 4.3 inch screen, 1 +GHZ processor, and the OS doesn't even matter. I just want it to be good. A front facing camera would be nice too.

I'd take an upgrade to the Droid X. If it had a front facing camera or a Super AMOLED screen I would have jumped all over it. The phone came out in July or something right? I'll wait for an upgrade or a sequel. I really want a phone that can match or even beat the EVO in every category... on Verizon. The original Droid X was close. I'm assuming/hoping a sequel will come out at some point between now and January.
