I was waiting on the Note 7 and since its now dead I just went ahead and ordered the S7 Edge. From everything I have watched and read its still the one of the best, if not the best phone on the market right now.

I'll see what the S8 looks like next year and may get that at some point. But I needed a new phone now because we are adding my daughter to our plan and she needed a new phone so I'm giving her my iPhone.

My wife loves her S7...I'm sticking with my HTC One m7 (old phone that's still not horrible)...

I did steal my wife's Gear S2 smart watch....she never wore it and I actually kinda like it...neat getting notifications on it.

I may look into the S8 next year (my wife will be 1 year in on her plan, trying to not have too many bills). I'm ok with my phone's performance though, so may just ride it out.

So I got my S7 Edge and I really like it. But I can't help but be intrigued by the Pixel. With Nougat and the Google assistant, its tempting. I use hands free features quite a bit. The iPhone was very good with that. GS7 is just ok in that regard.

There is one question about the Pixel that I can't seem to find an answer to. I'm wondering if the OK Google command can wake up the phone from sleep. I really liked that you could do that with the iPhone with Siri.

I'm pretty sure you can have OK Google with the screen off on Pixel. I think I can do it on my Note 5 so it stands to reason Google allows you to do it with all Google Now.

I'm rolling with my wife's old LG G4 for the time being. Unsure what my next move will be. Giving the V20 a hard look or waiting for the S8.

got the Beta for 7.1.1 last night on my nexus 6p.

Likewise (as well as my Pixel C). Any luck on finding Night Mode (or Nite Lite...whatever they're calling it). I had the Night Mode app on 7.0, but 7.1.1 seems to have broken it.

Reading up on some reviews, it seems the camera is very lackluster. Having a ton of pixels and great specs is one thing. Software is equally if not more important.

Besides that, if I'm paying what they're asking for for the 5.7" version, I'm expecting a Quad HD display. Especially at that size.

There's so many great phones out there right now but if I was looking at buying a phone right now outright, I'd be looking at either the ZTE Axon 7 or the One Plus 3.

How did you get it to work on the Edge? I tried everything and never got it to work.

I dont have an S7 but my cousin had me change it on hers it was pretty simple I think it was Settings >Voice > "Ok Google" Detection and there were some toggles for home screen and lock screen I think.

I did those but there was no way to wake it when the phone was off.

But it doesn't matter anyway. I returned it and got the Pixel and am very happy.
