sweet. where'd you find that at? i'm 99% sure i'm going with a 50 inch plasma as well.

Went ahead and bought another HDMI receiver for a surround system and a new center channel speaker. I'm thinking that a new subwoofer for a bedroom setup might be overkill. LOL

I already have a stand. Mounting isn't an option since I live in an apartment.

FF, that LG LED you posted from SEARS is a really nice TV. The knock on it is the Motion Processing Software isn't that great. I have the 55 inch version as a loaner until I get my TOSHIBA 55 inch back. (Long Story)

The LG offers a helluva picture when somewhat calibrated. Probably the BEST Colors I have ever seen on a TV. The Black levels are very good as you do get some back-light bleeding. The other thing with the LH90 is it has a lip-sync issue that needs to be fixed with a FIRMWARE UPDATE. LG knows about the issue & is pretty good in getting a tech-out.

Here's the LG LH90 in my LR:

Here's the TOSHIBA 670U which is an amazing TV in my LR:

BTW both TV's are LED LCD TV's

FYI keep in mind.......not all brands of plasma tvs are the same. Walmarts Sanyo 50 inch plasma regular price is $698 and will be $598 for Black Friday. That brand of plasma sucks major a$$. Every person I know that bought that plasma tv had it break on them within 3 months, with soime as little as 2 weeks.

I dont know, it really depends on what series of Vizios you talking about. Because some series of Vizios arent worth crap and break down quickly.

Nice. I'm torn between the 42 inch 720p Panny plasma 50 inch 720p Samsung plasma.

Blu ray stand alones are all gonna give you a great picture. Only question is features: how fast does it load, can it decode lossless audio, can it stream netflix, youtube, etc.

If you just need playback get the Magnavox at Walmart on BF for $78 (almost $85 with taxes and having to fight the crowds). My suggestion would be to pay the $15 difference to get the LG BD 270 for $100 shipped right now at Amazon that decodes lossless audio (and sleep in) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846

or the LG BD 370 which adds netflix streaming for $132 shipped http://www.amazon.com/LG-Network-Blu...9161073&sr=1-1

Update: Best Buy has a netflix streaming Insignia player for $99 + tax
in terms of laptops, what's your budget? I'd stay away from any $200 laptops. www.bfads.net has a good buyer's guide for laptops. I'd start my search there.... My brother has a $400 dual core Sony laptop from Best Buy and he recommends it. (Best Buy also has one that has a blu ray drive for $500)

I have not. I've never looked at Samsung for anything other than their LCDs. I'm almost decided on the Sammy which will be basically a $100 upgrade (Amazon has free shipping and no taxes) and not have to fight the crowds.

Unless Amazon has a lightning deal on a comparable set for less.

That's a good choice because, while it's subjective I know, I've never felt like the Panasonics I saw in tv show rooms held up at all to the Samsungs.
