    Are Emerson's good?

Wal Mart has a 32" for 248 tomorrow morning.

I'm just looking for a 26-32 inch to buy my mom tomorrow as an early Christmas present.

Note - she has never had an HDTV, so I don't really need top-of-the-line. It's down to either the Emerson deal at Wal Mart or one of the 500 dollar Samsungs.

I almost got the Sammy plasma but have read online that the 2008 line had a buzzing problem with the major of them. Would have been happy with a Panny but the LG was $70 cheaper, a 2009 version, had an extra HDMI port, and a swivel stand.

So this is what I did this morning:
      1) logged into my live.com email account
      2) went to bing.com search engine & started shopping
      3) did a search for the "LG 50PQ30"
      4) clicked on the link with the highest cash back being Sears.com (13%)
      5) used by Sears card at checkout (10% off electronics over $699 using a Sears card)
      6) entered the coupon SEARS5OFF50 for extra $5 (works on any purchase over $50--may have to call the customer service to get them to add this after the fact)
      7) checked out
man, i may just pull the trigger.. i know a buddy who works at a sears and im just gonna have him do the deal online so i can get the above plus his extra 10% off. IMO you cant beat getting a 50 in for around $530.

Go here and set up an account http://www.bing.com/cashback which means you need a live or hotmail email address.

Then go to bing.com and click on the tab at the top for shopping

Type in what you are shopping and click on it. Then just choose the place that will give you the highest cash back. For this plasma Sears just happen to be giving back 13% ....it can be anything...2% , 10%

it will ask you to login and enter a password before it takes you to that store's website

then shop as usual. will take 1-2 days before the transaction shows up as pending.... if it doesn't you call them

I'd DEFINITELY go with the Samsung. If you get the Emerson you should also get the extended warranty (which would make it just as much as the Sammy and defeat the purpose)

              That's what I figured.

Both my sister and I have 22" Samsungs that have awesome pictures. I'll probably head out early this morning (3 or 4 am, depending on how the lines look) and pick up a 26" Samsung for my mom's bedroom.

              Thanks.

I wish there were some good deals on 37" TVs. 40" is too big for the space I have, and I'd like something a little bigger than 32".

Re: Looking for a new TV, suggestions?

so im thinking of going with the 32" VIZIO for $350 or a 23" Samsung for $250 both black friday deals.

One question I have is that i have a PS3 and was wondering if i needed to buy an HDMI cable or something else to connect the PS3 to my new TV because right now i have a 20" RCA standard def TV and i just use the A/V cables that came with my PS3. Will these A/V cables work with an LCD tv or do i need to purchase other cables?? thanks

You will want one HDMI cable (that will handle both video and audio). Go here and get it for $3.25 shipped http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new Do NOT pay $20-80 at a retail store.

                        I have a question.

Say I bought that 32 in Vizio from Sears like he mentioned for $350 online. Would I still have to pay sales tax, even if I pay for it online and then do the in store pick-up?

Also, does Sears have some kind of extended warranty or something?

Yes, you have to pay taxes at Sears. And yes they have 2 or 3 year extended warranties. You have 30 days to buy one after buying the tv---doesn't have to be bought on the same day.

Samsungs are almost always better than similarly priced Vizios.

On paper, these 2 are similar but the Sammy has 1 extra HDMI port.

The main thing you want to look at is refresh rate (the lower the better). The sammy is 6ms which is above average....the refresh rate for the Vizio is 8ms which is average

If money was no object I'd get the Sammy--hands down.

With www.bing.com/cashback the sammy and vizio are virtually the same price
