Well I dunno what all the hoopla was about I guess.

I thought it was pretty weak. It dragged for me I guess throughout the movie.

I thought garfield seemed whiny at times and I couldn't take him seriously. A lot of the time I was thinking that the CGI was just the same with the previous Spider movies (which were done years ago). Aside from the web swinging, I just wasn't impressed visually. I understand the task at hand of taking a giant Lizard and making it real, but it just seemed too hard of a task.

Anyway, I was not trying to compare to the other movies. Just wasn't my cup of tea

I saw the movie yesterday and IMO it was GREAT, I really enjoyed it, I think it blew all the other spider man's out the water, the story was good the graphics were awesome and I just enjoyed it much more then I thought I was.!!

Okay thanks a lot I shouldn't have no problem with them seeing it then. I didn't let them see The Dark Knight and I have my ticket for the midnight showing of TDKR to see if it will be okay before I let them see it. Some people might think I'm being overprotective but I want to protect them from as much bad stuff as I can while I still can.

I wouldn't apologize for being overprotective about shielding your kids from certain content.
I'm the same way.

These kids are going to see a lot of stuff later in life, so why fast-forward the process??

A teacher friend of mine was sent on a workshop seminar where experts and psychologists presented the affects of young minds absorbing violent content.
After taking in this workshop he was very close to getting rid of his TV all-together.

The stats they showed along with video and written data/evidence had everyone in the audience in near tears.
The instructor said kids will see tens of thousands of violent acts before they turn 3 years old.
He made a simple analogy to let the audience know how much our kids take in a regular basis.
He asked people to envision telling their young 2-year-old that the family dog was run over by a truck. Most kids will cry.
He then asked them to imagine the 2-year-old WATCHING their family dog get run over by a truck.
Finally, he asked the audience to imagine someone video-taping the family dog getting splattered, and then forcing the 2-year-old to watch that video dozens of times a day for several months. THAT"s what most kids are subjected to on a daily basis.

Most 'experts' will tell you that us normal people have absolutely no idea the affect these violent images and videos have on forming a young mind. It's something most people can't comprehend.

I know I'm sounding like a bleeding heart liberal here, but I do believe our kids are subjected to too much violence at a very young age, so the longer you can hold them off from seeing a lot of this stuff, the better.

Amazing Spider-man and movies similar will be around forever on Bluray so it's not going to kill anyone if you wait a few more years to allow your kids to watch it.
I still don't let my 9 year old watch anything beyond PG and will wait longer to allow him to watch the original Spiderman trilogy.

No surprise here.

The Amazing Spider-Man is performing well at the box office and scoring widespread critical acclaim, so much so that Sony have announced it will be the first instalment in a new trilogy of Spidey films.

Despite predictions that the wall-crawler would struggle in a summer dominated by The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man netted $35m on its opening day in the States, giving it the biggest Tuesday opening of all time.

With experts estimating that the film will hit the $150m mark by the end of the weekend, it should come as no surprise that Sony have decided to bite the bullet and give the okay to a further two films in the franchise.

"The Amazing Spider-Man is the first instalment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents," says a new post on the film's official Facebook page.

Director Mark Webb has revealed he's already been turning over ideas for a potential second film, although he hasn't been confirmed to return as yet. However, with the first film continuing to put bums on seats, we'd be surprised if he didn't get a telephone call sooner rather than later.

And the producers have been openly talking about possibly making a deal with Disney to get Spider-Man in the other Marvel movies. I really hope that they can actually make that happen.

Simply a fantastic movie. They did a phenomenal job and I was pleasantly surprised.

Still hate the new costume.

I love the possibilities down the line. MJ, Brock/Venom, Goblin, etc.

I thought it was this when I saw it. Plus Connors seem to have been talking/debating with himself in a couple other scenes in the movie.

Thought the movie was good too. I saw it in 3D and it has a few 3D elements but it's not overly done like Captain America was. There's some cool 1st person webslinging but that scene is only a few seconds long. There's not a lot of crap being thrown at the screen for no reason.

Also would have liked to see them develop the costume more. I liked how it was developed in Spiderman 1, in this one he's just online shopping and all of a sudden he has this new costume. Wasn't crazy about it either.
