    Re: Spider-Man reboot in 2012

Didn't they just make a bunch of spiderman movies? What the hell?

What are they going to do next? Maybe reboot the Harry Potter franchise? Maybe they can make a new Twilight movie and start the series again before the current one even ends...

I can understand that. Damn shame though because I think there are a lot of creative people out there who could do some fantastic work on a big budget film and character such as this. I guess in the end it all comes down to the suits behind closed doors who make the big decisions so that the product can be just that instead of a great piece of cinematic work.

You know what my issue with the Spider-Man movies are? They never show his constant witty banter. Its a rather annoying aspect that has bothered me about the original trilogy. I have a feeling this reboot will do the same since its supposed to be ANOTHER origin movie from what i understand.

That's one thing I always loved about the cartoon series was how much of a smartass Spidey was while he was battling somebody. It was just another contrast to Peter Parker.

Looks like they found their new Mary Jane: http://movies.ign.com/articles/112/1125116p1.html

Face it, Tiger. You just hit the jackpot.

According to Deadline, Sony Pictures has selected their Zombieland and Easy A star Emma Stone to portray Peter Parker's (future) love interest Mary Jane Watson in their next Spider-Man film. The site claims the studio will "imminently offer" Stone the role, one of two female leads in the film.

The second female lead is Gwen Stacy, with Dianna Agron (Glee), Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Georgina Haig (Wasted on the Young) and Dominique McElligott (Moon) said to be the finalists for that role.

The site says Gwen is a "plum part for the first installment of the 3D Marc Webb-directed reboot of Spider-Man, because she is the first love interest of the high school-aged Peter Parker, played by Andrew Garfield. Mary Jane -- played by Kirsten Dunst in the Sam Raimi-directed trilogy -- becomes more pivotal in the later installments of the Spidey saga."

Filming begins later this year for a July 3, 2012 release.
I'm not crazy about this choice but it could work.

I don't think I'm crazy about the choice either. She was very attractive in Zombieland, but she's no MJ in my opinion (especially if she's going to be a red head). I'm honestly probably one of the only people who found some good chemistry between Maguire and Dunst in the other Spider-Man movies.

                  Yup - she's definitely a good choice for a high-school MJ.

Yeah you're alone cause Dunst couldn't act to save her life, let alone portray any kind of chemistry.

That's cool that I'm alone; doesn't mean I don't think Emma Stone should portray MJ.

Honestly, I wasn't even planning on seeing this until they cast Emma Stone. Loved her in Zombieland. Loved that whole movie.

Hell, Easy A intrigues me too. Again, solely because she's in it. And it's supposed to be good, so that helps.

Kirsten Dunst was hot enough in the first you. To be honest all of the spidermans kinda sucked. They gos progressively worse, and WTF was up with the last one.

Petey looks pretty good, Emma Stone seems kinda dorky for MJ, but idk if she was supposed too or not. Either way it wasn't a bad move, but I'm sure there were better ones

Kirsten Dunst was not hot enough, I mean she's not supermodel, jaw dropping sexy the way MJ was and is in the comic books but it is true that she had great chemistry with Maguire.

Don't know much about these actresses so I will have to look them up.
