Other than saying "***" but yeah, I would think it's okay for a 6 year old.

I think so. It's no more violent or scarier than past Spider-Man movies.

        Thanks.
I have to admit, we're pretty guarded with our boys (9 and 5.5).
The 'harshest' movie they've seen is The Incredibles - or movies like that.
They've never seen a PG-13 film and they got freaked out by a couple of scenes in "Brave" (with the bear).

The only shows they watch are Ninjago, SpongeBob or Bugs Bunny, so they haven't been exposed to much in that regard.
So I'm a bit hesitant to take them to see this film (rated PG in Canada).

Thanks for the quick reply though. I value your feedback.
        Thanks!

The only two "bad" scenes that come to mind are a quick scare with the Lizard and a scene where someone gets shot and there's some blood.

For what it's worth there was a little girl sitting behind me and my friends that was probably around 8-10 and she seemed okay with the movie.

I mean there was gun fire(that's probably the only thing you might need to worry about), but there was like a 5 year old next to me and he wasnt phased by any part of the movie..

I took my 8 year old son to see it this morning in IMAX 3D. I enjoyed it. There wasn't anything that you need to be worried about. Peter & Gwen kissed a few times not sure how you feel about that, but thats about it. I think this is the 2nd best Spider-man movie with Spider-man 2 of the original trilogy being the best.

Peter and Gwen don't exactly peck each other throughout the movie either. There's some pretty intense scenes, but nothing too terribly graphic. Lizard is pretty freaky too and there's a certain part involving Lizard that I found disgusting..

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)

Just got back from seeing it.

Ranking just the Spider-Man movies, I'd go like this:

                  Spider-Man 2

                  The Amazing Spider-Man/Spider-Man

                  Spider-Man 3

Alfred Molina's turn as Doc Ock. puts Spidey 2 a couple of notches above for me.

As far as ASM goes, Garfield and Stone>>>Maguire and Dunst, for the Spider-Man Universe. The other characters/actors were solid too. Loved the plot, some of the dialogue and about four or five scenes could have been sent back for rewrites, but nothing too egregious.

I'm expecting OS to be split on this movie, based on the pre-release chatter, I pretty much know who here is going to hate it.

Sounds great let me ask you something, my 9 and 6 year old boys want me to take them to see it. With it being a PG-13 rating is it something that I can feel comfortable in taking them to see?

How is the 3D stuff? Is it noticeable in 2D?

I liked everything about this movie more than the first 3. Andrew Garfield is miles ahead of Tobey Maguire and Mark Webb really knows how to make a good looking movie. Aside from the lizard stuff (because he's a giant lizard), the cgi was not noticeable like the Raimi movies.

Did you take them to see Avengers or Thor? It's pretty much at that level. Some of the stuff with the Lizard could be a little scary if they're sensitive or not use to seeing that kind of CGI monster.
