Damn, would love to say just one more thing Pared! Anyway, I really think the iPad 1 is fine for anybody looking for an iPad. I have the original and in all honesty, there are only going to be a few apps that use the extra processing power, and the differences will be marginal.

Unless your really into Facetime or are super interested in the few iPad 2 exclusive apps (imovie I think?) I really don't see the need for the 2. I will keep my original until the next, just like I passed on the iPhone 4 with my 3GS, and will wait for the 5.

I just picked up an Ipad 2... It's actually a lot smoother and just an overall better product than I expected... I only bought it because the value does not depreciate as much as other technology....

Agreed. There was nothing about the iPad 2 that made me want to drop my iPad and run out and get the new model. For 99% of the people an iPad 1 at the lowered price is a great option.

My buddy just got the iPad 2, man it is FAST. I won't be upgrading until the iPad 3 though.

Yeah, I wouldn't upgrade, but if I'm buying something new I want the faster processor so it doesn't lag behind as much. I ran into that issue with the first gen Touch. It can't run half the stuff the newer ones can because they require the faster processor.

Now I just have to wait for the damn things to get in stock lol

While I'm here I'd like to ask about size/version of iPad.

My plan is to get the 32GB Wifi only iPad 2, does that make sense. Not sure I really need the 64GB version, but I know 16GB is a bit small when you start putting movies on there.

I don't really see the need for a 3G version, do you guys think it'd be a good idea even if I wasn't planning on signing up for it? Seems like a waste of money since I'll root my Droid and get the hotspot stuff running...

I've been able to manage easily with 32GB but I also have most of my music on my iPhone. That's not enough for my entire collection so I've pretty much been ok with keeping most of my popular items on my devices.

I think it depends on how much music/movie type items you would want on it. Also, whether or not you plan to game much on it is important. Most games are bigger in size overall.

Yeah. I have a 16 GB iPod touch (1gen) and that's been ok, but I did clear out some of my music library to free up space for videos. I usually don't have that many videos on at once, mostly for when I'm traveling and whatnot. My music collection isn't too crazy, I think it's at or under 10GB, so I think I'll be fine with the added space and may just have to manage things a bit before vacations.

I'll have to think about it though, is it worth 100 bucks to have the biggest...hmmm

If you're a baseball fan the MLB at Bat app is pretty sweet. Don't know if you've had this on your ipod or not.

Just found out about a grad class that I can take to see how to incorporate the iPad into the classroom...and you get an iPad with the course.

Our district lets us get reimbursed up to $1500 a calendar year for classes, which covers the course an the iPad!!

Pretty sure my wife and I are signing up for this!!

Just posting on this thread from my new (white) iPad 2! I'm really loving this thing so far. I'm also using the free browser Terra and I think it's way better than Safari.

My Apple ecosystem is now complete. But I still have good ole' PC for gaming!
