I imagine it is, which is kinda why I want it. I want a case that will take some abuse if needed, especially if this iPad is going to replace my laptop for meetings and school notes and such.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

If this will be a laptop replacement, then I definitely see why you need the protection. I'd like to see what it looks like.

          Re: The Apple iPad

64 pages is a bit much to read through, can anyone tell me - is this any fun to play board games/2 player games on?

I almost got one for my wife for Christmas, but the price tag is too much right now - and I don't really think she needs one (as much as she wants one)... I think it's more of a novelty. I also held off because I believe the iPad 3 will probably come out within the next year, so I figure that's something worth just waiting for. When that comes out, I'll probably consider it more carefully.

But I'm curious how the 'lay down and play a board game' works. Are there enough games, does it feel natural, is it fun? I could see us buying games for it to play, and not have to worry about setting up or put away games... Seems like it could be fun, so I thought I'd see if anyone else uses it like this and if it's fun or just something that wears off and you're better off sticking to the real thing.

There are tons of games in the app store in every category. Pretty much every board game from the 70s, 80s and 90s is on the Ipad.

            Scrabble
            Monopoly
            The Game of Life
            Battleship
            Risk
            Clue
            Trivial Pursuit
            Jenga
            Yahtzee
            Boggle
            Chess
            Checkers
            Connect 4
            Tic Tac Toe
            Straego
            Backgammon
            Chutes and Ladders
            Mahjong
            Domino
            Bingo
            Sudoku

            Literally thousands of games.

But are they fun to play, and designed well enough to work without getting in the way? That's my main question.

Heck yeah, they are fun to play. They play exactly like the originals for the most part. You can play against randoms or against your friends. I really like playing Scrabble. That's my favorite.

I saw that you can use your iTouch as a letter holder for that, too. Thought that looked pretty cool.

My only concern is things getting in the way of say player-player interaction, and bugs. Like in Monopoly, making trades with other players seems like it could get tricky, since it has to be programmed in as opposed to players just being able to make their minds up and physically trade things around.

Yeah, I see what you're talking about in Monopoly. I haven't played that one yet. I'd imagine that could get tricky as well.

I don't have a screen protector on our original iPad.

You really don't need one. As long as your smart about it, it won't scratch.
