I find that to be a bit of a stretch, and seems a bit out of character for Jimmy. I could see Nucky doing it, but they are also painting Nucky as kind of an anti-hero for the black community in the show, he uses them quite a bit but also seems genuinely disgusted with any racist treatment. I think the whole thing was as it was shown, maid was sick of being treated like dirt. Jimmy being behind it makes little sense, with him eating a poisoned cookie.

I was saying Nucky was behind Jimmy mom killing him. Nucky wants all the power and it seems the Comodore knows something about him that he doesn't want to get out and the mom didn't want Jimmy to know about the Comodore being the father.



I liked how they Jimmy walking along the beach at the end which I thought symbolized that he would be taking over.

Nucky might have something to say about that. Is Nuck's brother OK with that? It seems like he wouldn't mind being in charge.

So the maid was doing the poisoning.

Rothstein paid out of his a$$, but at least he's free.

Jimmy's friend "Two Face" is about as bad as he is.

It's an uphill battle for Nucky next season. Let's hope we don't have to wait a year and a half to see it (Sopranos).

He is a bad dude.

I love Harrow, he's a cool character. I really liked his little scenes with Margaret and her kids, especially the end where he talks about how he forgets what he used to look like.

Anyone else enjoy the cross cut everybody dies sequence, ala the Godfather? Harrow/Capone/Jimmy killing a bunch of people in succession is pretty awesome. Al's nonchalant headshot and taking the apple had me cracking up. I really hope they continue following his story next season. He doesn't have to dominate every episode to be effective and compelling, that's the beauty of it.

This season was great. There are some issues that leave you confused like I swore it was Jimmy's mom that was doing the poisoning and not the maid. Also Agent Nelson's decision making is all over the place. You never know what actions he is gonna take despite his beliefs.

Van Alden is a weird, creepy dude. The self-flagellation scene and his drowning of the agent are just two examples of a nut case.

Van Alden is one part comedy, one part creepy. How can't you laugh at Shannon's delivery in some of his scenes? He's so deadset on his own beliefs, his scenes with Sebso cracked me up. The drowning was especially messed up.

All of that is essentially what makes him probably the best (and for me most interesting) character in the show.

The maid scene was intriguing. I certainly felt that Nucky or someone was in charge of the poisening, but the way the maid was acting, it certainly seemed she acted alone. The Commodore was pretty rude to her in the earlier episodes before he fell ill.

Great 1st season. The character development has been awesome. Anyone notice Capone starting to become more serious in the finale when Luciano made that wise crack during the met.

I think season 2 is the prelude to the "New Blood" making their move

Of course Capone is more serious. Remember the Synagogue where they asked him why he was wearing the hat of a Boy and then the silly exploding cigarette. He's not messing around anymore.....

I know that. It's just that Capone's character has taken a back seat for a couple of episodes & then to see him put Lucky in his place in the last episode, show's he's starting to become the Capone we've all read/heard about

I don't know how they're going to handle Capone, since time-wise he doesn't really fit into their schedule. He doesn't become the biggest gangster ever until like 20 years later. Unless the show really jumps time, I doubt we ever see that.

Still be cool seeing what leads up to it, though. How Capone came to be and all of that. I'm already looking forward to a Jimmy/Al of the future scene like three-four seasons from now.

Luciano is just as interesting as Capone. In terms of gangster history, he's probably the more important figure. He pretty much revolutionizes the mafia.
